if you weren’t happy with the hair, why would you want to retur?? Thats what I would keep telling myself while I cancelled the appt. I wouldn’t want to spend 175.00 on something i wasn’t 100% happy with ESPECIALLY on my wedding day

I would call them and just say, “My plans for wedding hair and makeup have changed, and I need to cancel my appointments. How much do I owe you for the trial? I will send a check.”

If they try to talk you out of it or get into a discussion about it, just keep politely repeating yourself. “My needs have changed and I’d just like the amount so I can pay you for the trial.” “I’m sorry, I don’t have the time to get into a conversation now, but I just need to cancel the appointments and get the amount to send you.”

Don’t over-explain yourself or feel guilty. Just pay them what is fair and move on.

I don’t think most places make you pay for the trial. It’s an insurance policy basically, to show you thier skills so you will stick with them and not go somewhere else.

@Neetch:  you’re way over thinking this. If she wants $ or something (which you don’t have a signed contract it sounds like so she can’t really ask you for any anyways) she’ll come to you.

Just relax and move along.

Yeah just move on. If they want money for the trial they have your phone number. She probably just knows she did a bad job and wants to forget about it.

I’m sure it’s just the way it goes sometimes. If they needed a deposit or payment for the trial they would have asked for that up front. At least it’s not a salon you regularly use, that would be awkward. Move on and be happy with your awesome deal!
