we are doing one. We will have two ushers light each candle on the aisle seat of all the rows. Th n FI and I will light our candles from our mom's candles (they will be the first lit) and light one unity candle representing all of the families and our guests. We will have the dripless tapers and the drip cups, similar to what they do in Church. The soloist will sing "you light up my life".
I'm really looking forward to this!
We're having one! The room will be lit by the fireplace and my candles in mason jars scattered around the room. My Bms will also be carrying lanterns with candles in them. I'm so excited! I've never actually be to a candlelit ceremony, but I think it will be really pretty.
One of my friends had a candlelit ceremony. She had an eveninge wedding in December so it was perfect...they had candlabras down the aisles that they borrowed from the church and the bridesmaids carried lanterns instead of bouquets. The lanterns were especially awesome because they were WAAAAY cheaper than flowers!
Duh, why did I read candelighting ceremony? Lol. We will be having a candelit ceremony as well. December late night wedding with a view of the skyline. I'm hoping it will be gorgeous :)
@Mollytov: Love the picture! And what a great idea - tall vases with ?water and floating candles. I sense a huge project coming. My FI is rolling his eyes.
Candlelight ceremonies are so pretty. That picture is gorgeous!
i think i grabbed it from a post on bee. I love it and it's a perfect reflection of what i want. circle ceremony and candlelight, perfect for our night time wedding.
i'm grabbing oversize vases two-at-a-time when they go on sale at Homesense and other household stores and i am DIY'ing a lace rug for underneath.
So now I've taken it a step further - maybe luminaries? It fits with the holiday theme and I think it will be easier to ensure it gets set up the way I want it. I was thinking I wanted 8 or 10 in candles up the aisle but the battery operated are $15 or $20 each - and I think I would need about 15 or 20 of them. This sounds like an easy DIY project right (I'm not really a good DIY so if you have any good ideas - let me know!) Can you just buy the bags and stamp them or make cut outs?
Hi Bees! We are planning on having a candlelight ceremony in February. Hopefully pillars down the aisle and then a table with pillars in front (I really like the circle ceremony pic too!) Here's my inspiration pic.

Hi -anyone thinking about a candlelight ceremony? Would love to hear any ideas -
I am thinking we might line the aisle with pillar candles (all battery operated of course - wouldnt want anyone - including me to catch on fire) and have everyone holding a battery operated candle.
