What type of candy are you doing?  Small peices like M&M’s, bigger like kisses?  Anything w/ a stick on it?  I suppose it depends on what type of candy and how much you want to buy…

I am doing cellophane bags because my candy peieces will be a little bit bigger

Do you have a jam jar? Or any other jars that might be small in your refriderator? Check those for a size comparison and also any plastic storage containers you might have. I would go with the half pint. You wouldn’t have to purchase as much candy that way. If you are doing some lollipops too, you might consider bags, instead of boxes. That way the lollipop can stick out.

I would get the 1/2 pint – saves you from buying sooo much candy and people taking an excessive amount of candy that they may likely end up throwing away.

We went to a small bridal show not too long ago and there was a candy buffet there from a candy buffet company. The half-pint take-out boxes (at least I think that’s what they were) were just the perfect size. There was mostly small stuff and it fit rather well. We got more than enough between the two of us (we only took one box worth) and we still have a few little candies around from it.

Think of it this way:  Ben & Jerry’s ice cream is a pint size  :o)  Hope that puts it into perspective!

I think when I usually get Chinese take out, the options are pint and quart, pint being the “standard.” I would think that a 1/2 pint box might be too small.

I think 1/2 pint is a little on the small side but might be good if you want things to stick out and look cute

    Functionally? get the pint boxes!!!

I work on the metric system, so I don’t really know what a pint is, but I would still go the smaller ones, and maybe have extra boxes so that people who are really into candy or want to take some home for their kids can have 2, but most people will just take one.
