We are doing a candy bar at our wedding. Which would you rather see, The couples favorite candies or candies that go with the color theme?

@FutureMrsChaney: No offense,  but it isn't something to fret about.  Just pick the candies that look best with the theme and taste good.

I did the colors that matched.  Ours was right in the middle of our room though, so I felt like it needed to be part of the decor.

Fretting? she's asking for an opinion, that's what we do here.

I think if you can go for ones that match that would look the best, but it really depends on your over all theme and decorations. You can also buy the generic chocolates in custom wrappers. I've always thought those were cute if you can afford them :)

My color is purple so there are a lot of options I just know that people dont really like grape flavored candies that much.

I really like color coordinated candy buffets. Depending on your colors/themes you can probably find candy that is delicious and appropriately colored. I'm sure that everyone could help you brainstorm some choices if you choose to do color coordinated---or check out a few online candy stores that allow you to sort their inventory by color.

I always love the colour coordinated ones because I think they can be really creative and look gorgeous.

I would go with what you like! There are probably a lot of purple options, but I can't think of any purple candies that I like right now :) I think a candy buffet always looks cool, no matter what the colors are, and as a guest I'd rather have good candy!

Id rather have everything than a theme. That limits your choices.  We did a massive candy buffet (about 150lbs of candy) with all sorts, and even though it didnt match, it looked awesome

@FutureMrsChaney: Our colors were purple, gold and ivory. All of the grape candy we got was awesome. Grape gumballs, gummy bears, and lollipops, purple m&m's. We also found things that were huckleberry flavored too. Plus black cherry is purple as well. We used standard mini candies for the gold, like snickers and reese's cups. Ivory choc covered pretzels. pina colada licorice, etc. Candy Bar Question : wedding Candy Buffet 2

There are tons of purple and white candies.....black would even go with that. Not all are grape flavored, lots of candy wrapped in purple wrappers and purple M&M's. Check out the candy stores onlin.e

I like this site to get ideas:

    http://www.candywarehouse.com/purplecandy.html

I went to the purple candy so you could see all the different types. You dont even have to order from them ( it can be pricey) but I use it to get ideas of candy I want to use and then will get locally.

    Hope that helps!

Oh, BTW I am doing one and my colors are red and fall colors and I am going to use it as a decorating tool as well so will try and use a lot of our favorite candies but in the red theme. I Just think it looks more uniform.

    HTH!

candy that tastes good - if you have a black and white theme - most of those candies SUCK!  gross, nobody ends up likeing the purple candies that match beautifully.  Choose candy that everyone will like and that closely resembles the theme but not overboard.  We found candies that had green wrappers (andes mints) and everyone loved those.  Jelly beans and M&Ms are always a hit and you can get them in a rainbow of colors.  I found fake M&M's so they weren't super expensive.  These are jelly beans.  I made a color coordinated rainbow effect-ish.
