A coworker told me that she went to a wedding where the flower girls carried cute little bouquets made out of candy (lollipops and whatnot).
I originally purchased flower girl baskets ~ but 2 of our flower girls are only 2 (and my fiance’s goddaughter is a 3rd flower girl who is 9 years old).
Perhaps ~ with their age ~ it would be really cute for them to carry candy bouquets and maybe the older one to actually throw the petals?
Has anyone done this? Seen pictures? Thanks!

I am not sure I’d want to give 2 year olds entire bouquets of candy at my wedding. Who is going to stop them from then eating it all and launching sugar tantrums? Also, if you do go this route, I would be sure to clear it with the parents. I don’t think it’s too big a deal for them to just carry the baskets down even if they do not actually do the job of scattering petals.

That is a good point ~ I am assuming that they are secured and wrapped in a fancy little bouquet ~ but honestly ~ I have no clue. I tried looking it up and haven’t found a thing…
And I agree with you ~ they would be fine carrying the baskets ~ and sometimes it’s even cuter when they DONT cooperate 🙂 Memorable.
If the flower babies carried the candy bouquets ~ then the older one might feel a little more “special” if she has the important job of throwing the petals… hmm… just thinking outloud. 🙂
I just thought this was a unique alternative 🙂
