I've seen some very pretty jars & vases at Hobby Lobby that I thought would be perfect for a candy buffet. My favorite thing about Hobby Lobby is that they regularly have things 50% off. If you have the time to wait, they'll surely go on sale before too long!
I was going to say TJMaxx/HomeGoods as well. We got a lot of ours there for a decent price. Also, Target/Walmart had good prices on the basic, standard ones.
I bought all my jars from Marshalls. That they had the best variety for the best price. I got all of them for under $10!!
As for candy, I think it depends on what type of candy. Wholesale clubs like Sam's or Costco has bulk, but a lot of it is branded candy. But try out a Restaurant Supply store. They have quite a selection of different colored mints and wrapped candies.
There were a TON of apothecary jars at Michaels the other day. They weren't there when i was looking! Walmart also has some cute jars as does Target.
hahaha, you know where i found the best jars at? walmart! such a surprise! i went to ikea and bought a few, but i found much more interesting shapes at walmart for cheaper! check near their candle decorating aisle. we'll be returning some of our ikea ones!
There are some great apothecary jars on clearance at Kohl's.. run to your local store because they're sold out online now.
What are some candy ideas for the candy buffet? I want to do this at my reception too!
M&M's, Jelly Beans.....what else?
We're doing a "throwback" candy bar... choosing our favorite candies from growing up- pop rocks, bottlecaps, jawbreakers, etc!
I found some apothecary jars at Marshall's. Prices ranged from $7.99 to $9.99.
babagrilshell - i love your 'throwback' idea! i may steal your idea, if you don't mind. ;-)
We bought a bunch of Anchor Hocking jars from Wal-mart for our candy bar. 1-gallon was 6.97 and 2-gallons were 12.37 each, Target has them too (similar price)!
We had originally wanted apothecary jars, but couldn't find enough in the size we need. I found those in Marshalls and TJ Maxx.
We're planning on getting the candy from BJ's or COSTCO. We're just getting a range of candy, no color specifics.

Hello Beehive,
Can you give me some suggestions as to the best places to find jars for my candy buffet? Also tips on where to buy candy in bulk would also be appreciated. Thanks
