Hello ladies! I need your opinions please. I see so many amazing candy buffets on WB and internet in general, I’m trying to figure out what we should do for our candy buffet. Originally, I was planning on having it coordinate with our wedding colors of blue and purple. Based on that and the two candy warehouses in our area we would have done blue/purple gummy bears, generic m&ms, sour belts, pop rocks, airheads, jelly beans, salt water taffy, and rock candy sticks. I like those candies but I feel that not everything will get touched/eaten and people will be disappointed in the selection?
Now here’s the problem. FI feels there’s not enough chocolate in that selection and Fiance LOVESSSS chocolate. He’s saying screw the color coordination and let’s just go with the good candy like Reese’s, Kit Kats, Snickers, etc. I’m down for the good stuff that I also enjoy, but I feel like it won’t look as classy and nice and just blend well? Have any of you ladies done a candy buffet with various types of candy that did not coordinate with your colors at all? If so, could I please see pictures? I’d love to have an idea of it!
I have made a poll! We all love polls! 🙂 Please share your opinions! If you have any other candy suggestions that would be easy to find in our colors and also contain chocolate, that would be great as well. Thanks so much!

Hello! a friend of mine had a great idea that were going to go with. Were going to find some cute wrapping paper in the wedding colors and wrap all the wrapable candies like the bars.
My question for you is, are you also going to have favors or will the candy suffice?

I like the idea of color coordinating. The PP suggestion is a good one too!

I think color coordinating is a little over the top. I might look at a coordinated buffet and think “nice” but I’d enjoy the one filled with delicious, popular candies more. Maybe put a color coordinated ribbon around the jar or something?

I don’t think it’s absolutely necessary for your candies to be matching! You could always decorate the table or jars with your wedding colors. I would add more chocolate, but thats because I LOVE chocolate 🙂 Most chocolates are brown, so I don’t think it would throw off your colors too much.

- Wedding: March 2012 - Pelican Grand Beach Resort
I don’t think you need to go over the top with color coordinating, but I think some consistency makes the buffet look better. When there are tons of different colors, especially within the same jars, I find the visual overwhelming.

I think color coordinating looks nice, but definitely isn’t necessary.

Keep your original idea and add one more chocolate option like chocolate covered almonds.

I think its ok to add brown, black, white and silver in. So you can add:
- Black Licorice
- Other Jelly Bean flavors
- Other things

If you lived in NYC I would tell you to go to Dylan’s candy bar and look around. Do you have a similar crazy huge candy store in LA where you can go and get ideas?
ETA: There is a dylan’s candy bar in LA now. I googled it and a news story came up.

How about dark chocolate Hershey’s kisses? They come in purple wrappers. You could get them in blue too, I think. Also M&M’s come in multiple colors. Also see if you can find ice cubes. I believe they are blue foil wrappers, very smooth chocoalte so good!
Perhaps you could also get those mini bars of chocolate and add a wrapper in your colors? Like the mini mr. goodbars. et? Lindst squares or truffles too may come in purple or blue.

Thank you all for your suggestions. In regards to the suggestion of getting a colored foil and wrapping them ourselves, I’ve thought of that and mentioned it to Fiance once and he said, “Fuck that shit. That’s too much effort” Lol. (Sorry, he’s got a really bad potty mouth!)
@asscherlover: I definitely like the idea of adding some browns and whites into the mix and it still looking fine.
@emilygrace07: I’ve never heard of Dylan’s. But there are two big candy warehouses not too far from me that I will be visiting. I’ve already made a trip out there several months ago to get some ideas and it’s just soooo overwhelming because there’s so many options!
@kerensa: I’ve seen those kisses in purple and blue! I don’t think they’re available at the candy warehouse though and I’m not sure if they’re seasonal or not. I’ll have to do some checking around. We don’t have too much time left. Getting married in 28 days!

@Jer72: Oops, I missed your question. The candy buffet will also be the wedding favors.

@MrsWTD: Definitely do Hugs and kisses though because they’re my favorite and neutral colored!
