Not at all! Could you maybe do several different kinds, and have it at each seat, so guests could swap as they wish?
That's an idea too. We're not having seating assignments though, but that could still probably work. thanks!
A big thing in my area is a 'Cookie Table'. Basically you get a few dozen cookies in multiple varieties and people take them home as favors. It can be cheaper than a candy bar. Hope this helps and good luck!
i saw this picture on Martha Stewart for 'choosing your favor'. I thought it was a really cute idea. This could be another way to take in Miss Bruschetta's suggestion. You could offer a few different favor bags. That way if someone doesn't want chocolate and would prefer cocktail nuts or mints, they could take that. Or if someone loves chocolate, they would choose that. This could be a good way to kind of incorporate the buffet 'feel' without all the jars and self serves.

Okay, so I really love the candy buffets and was really trying to work it in to our budget which is only about $3000 for about 80 people. Unfortuneately it's just not going to happen. My idea was that instead of having all of the different jars of candy for guests to self serve if we just filled favor bags with the same types of candy ourselves with a little sweet note attached. that way we still are giving guets a useful pretty favor and saving us money. Is this silly?
