There a MILLION candies out there that you can use. You can also have your monogram put on the candies. And most websites will let you choose the color of your candies, so you can have them match your wedding colors.
So many options! M&Ms come in just about every color now (and like BridetoBee2010 said, they can be personalized). Jelly Belly jelly beans also come in a whole assortment of colors. For something different, maybe some rock candy? (It looks so pretty lined up in jars!)
Those Andies mints come in a green color. What about Hersey Kisses, they are silver sometimes come in other colors. Black licorice (spelling?)
Oh yeah, look at oriental trading company online. I remember them recently displaying and black and white candy theme.
We're doing a candy buffet/dessert bar for our favors too!! I think it's such a great idea! We're doing a lot of black and silver, too. And that's as far as I've gotten!
I'm sure you could find blue/green lollipops. And the gummy sharks are kind of teal-ish! Oreos could certainly work, as well as white and dark chocolate covered pretzels. If you go with a sweets buffet instead of just candy your options are more open. How about teal frosted mini cupcakes? White white and black sprinkles?
honestly the best candy buffets ive seen have NOT been matchymatchy to the color scheme. what about a novelty candy buffet like this?
I had a candy buffet and did aqua and purple for my colors. You can use Hershey Kisses, M&Ms, jelly beans, and the such. I found tiffany blue malt balls, licorice twists, gummy rings, gumballs and lollipops for my colors. The candy buffet was our favor too and our guest loved it! Good luck!
At candywarehouse.com you can search by color and they have a lot of options. That might be a good starting off point?
I don't know if this helps, but what if you did just white candies (or one color theme) and had ribbons and the labels in your colors? That could be fun and was definitely something I considered for our candy buffet. I actually changed ours into just a 'goodies/candies' buffet to include bite size cookies and I am doing ribbons in our color scheme. I love teal though- such a pretty choice! Good iuck!
definitely not horrible! my colors are also similar; aqua, brown, creme and antique gold. i am gonna make the table matchy-themey but going more the route of GaBGirl's photo, of fun and colorful =)
Don't forget rock candy! That's a fun one, too. I am doing a candy buffet in shades of pink. How are you figuring out how much candy is needed per guest? We are going to have 150 people at our reception.
if you wanted to stick with the color theme you could do
Silver (hershey kisses) Minature pepperment patties
Black Licorice of different varietys Also blue too!!!
Also rock candy comes in black/aqua etc they are cool looking!
Also you could get colored glass containers with silver tops and put different colors of candies in them?
Ps. if you went with the chinese containers and you had kids there you could supply stickers for them to decorate their containers (that the adults help serve ofcourse!)
Aqua blue M and M's come in that color/jelly bellies/That cystal sugar candy on a stick (forget the name! real pretty) Also get those colored catons that look like chinese take out they come in black and teal/aqua silver handles and order labels with your names and date to put on the side and little bows set them on the table dressed up and then they could fill them up on the way out! Ps. they have blue shark gummy candies!!!
i saw this tiffany blue candy buffet that I thought was really nice -- have a look:
If you want a range of candy options and prices, but don't want to be tied down by the color scheme, you could get any candy you want, but put them in non-translucent bowls/containers that fit with your colors.
My colors were black, white, and apple green. I started out thinking I would have candy in all three colors for my buffet, but when I began looking at pics of other candy buffets the ones with the same color candy stood out more to me. I decided to go with a black and white damask table topper and all green candy. Most of my candy came from groovycandies.com and candywarehouse.com. Also, bulkfoods sometimes has candies in soild colors at a great price. Here is a pic of my buffet. I was very pleased with it and my guests raved about it.
I have to agree with GaBGal - forget about being too matchy. If you have a choice of color - such as your ordering M&Ms, by all means get them in your wedding colors. The best theme, though, would be for you and your FH to choose candies that you love.
If you are in the Houston area, I am using a company called Reign of Elegance. They did my cousins wedding candy buffet and were AMAZING!!
