I think it depends on the tone of your reception; is everthing else obsessively in your colors? If so, I would stick with colors.
I'm such a huge fan of getting the candy you LIKE and not matching with wedding colors, but I can totally see how disruptive and chaotic it can look if you have this crazy rainbow table at a themed wedding. Brown red and ivory are probably easier colors than most to match. But then in some cases you are limited to only certain flavors.
I'm doing a rainbow candy buffet at my rustic green and brown wedding. oh well.
Check out the weddingbee wiki on candy buffets for tons of inspiration photos and check this candy buffet photo pool that Miss Stiletto posted about
I tried to keep our colors more or less matching, but wasn't super strict about it. Colors were green, brown, pink
I had mine in burgundy/red and orange candies, we didn't have a huge setup because of the cake and cupcakes we had already. I had a lot more candy leftover than I had hoped but everyone seemed to enjoy it. I think every kid left with their kids pack full of candy and cupcakes, lol.
WHOA lattelove now there is inspiration!!! Love that link. I think the one's I personally am most drawn to are the coodinating colors. It creates interest and look the most planned and thought out.

hello again, hive! i have my heart set on a candy buffet. i've already begun buying jars and hunting out cheap doggy-bags, but i'm at a stand still about the candy. i'm not sure whether i should attempt to get everything in my wedding colors (brown, red, and cream), or if i should just do fun candies and not worry about their wrappers. i've seen both done, but i just can't decide. opinions?
