My FI and I are thinking of having a candy buffet.  I kind of jumped the gun a bit on my centerpieces and bought 25 small round glass vases and ended up changing my mind and buying something else.  So now I have these 25 vases and though maybe I could use them in a candy buffet.  But they're all the same size, and all the pics I've seen of candy buffets have different sized vases.  Would it look tacky if I had them all the same size, and maybe just used something to make some of them higher?  Does all the candy need to match the colors of the wedding?

No, it is not tacky to have the same size vases. I say use them. Just elevate some if you wish. As for having the candy be the same colors as the wedding, you can make them any color you wish. I am not doing candies of the wedding colors. We are choosing candies and snacks that we loved growing up (Peppermint patties, twizzlers, goldfish, M&M's etc.)

I love the idea of elevating them to make some higher than others.  This might sound boring, but I also like the idea of placing them in elevated rows, so they look like an actual candy store!  Do the candy buffet!  They're my favorite ever!

I think you could totally pull that off with same size bases. :)

I love the idea of elevated candy dishes-I like to picture them sporadically arranged but you can do in perfect rows if you like...  also, not sure if you like this, but it's an idea I have for my big day...to elevate different candy dishes by placing them on top of romantic old novels-the kind with the hardcover binding that are in jewel tones... the books can be stacked in 2s, 3s, 4s... just a couple of the dishes would be elevated like this...I love the idea to break up the consistency and add a personal touch.
