Our officiant was a friends father and he did the services free of charge, he is also a wedding photographer so we got some extra shots (on top of our paid photog) for free. I cannot for the life of me think of what to get him as a thank you. He loves photography and is a pastor, big fan of coffee. I was going to get a framed picture of him and his wife from our wedding but turns out our photog didn’t take one like I thought so that idea is out the window. His son said get him a gift card to a photography shop but that doesn’t quite feel personal enough. Thoughts?

Laurenplusalex: I absolutely love those, his son actually has one! Do we think getting that with a handwritten note and a gift card is too much/is it tacky to give him a gift card?

Personally, I’m a really difficult person to buy for. I’d prefer a gift card (large store – lots of choices) to any gift.

kwahom03: Our officiant is a friend who said our wedding for free. We decided to get her and her husband a gift card to their favorite brunch spot. The card allowed for a very nice brunch, tip included. We also wrote a note that included something sappy about love/brunch/whatever :P. Good luck!

kwahom03: I love that idea! I don’t think it’s tacky at all but, since you’re putting thought into the mug and the bag of coffee, put a little thought into the gift card, too. Sounds like a lovely gift!
