Hi fellow bees!
This is actually my first post and I had a question. Here is a little background.
I absolutely love this dress (Maggie Sottero Mona) but I cannot afford it and did not want to chance having it re-made.
I brought this dress from Davids at a bridal shop that sells preused gowns for $150 +tax.
I want to add the chiffon overlay to this dress but I do not want to mess up the button detail down the back of my dress. This dress has a zipper closure and the buttons do not actually button.
Is this possible? This dress is much prettier in person than the website shows. Also, my dress is Ivory & Satin, not white as pictured.

It should be possible. I would take it to a seamstress and ask for her professional advice, though.

@KCKnd2: Thanks! I am having the hardest time finding a seamstress in Maryland! Everywhere I go, I am told they make the changes but I have to provide the fabric. Im not sure if chiffon will work with the silk or the Ivory color..

Sounds like it should work okay!

@pengoala: Thanks! I truly appreciate everyone’s feedback
I was up late last night considering if I should just buy the dress I want and then decide which one to wear, or if I should stick with the customizations I’d like to make.
The only thing that holds me back is the quality of the replica I would have made by one of the online dress makers.
