The style can probably be found in other lines…I would try looking for similiar styles in lines closer to your budget first that you could try on first before commiting to  a replica!

I would look at other designers and find a similar style. WHat happens if you spend $$$ on a replica and then it is awful? You won’t have a dress at all! I’m sure you can find something similar that will make you feel beautiful for less 🙂

Ordering a replica, IMO, requires a lot of research to determine who you actually want to do it. Some of the companies are really good and some are horrible.

With that being said, I’ve considered this route and have done an ENORMOUS amount of research regarding several companies. The companies that I’ve noticed that have the best reviews are:

Milly Bridal – gives pictures of a test dress and actual dress throughout process

Dressilyme – same as Milly

Gianinar – only asks for a deposit, when you see the finished pic, then you pay in full

Landy Bridal – same as Milly

IeIe Boutique – same as Milly

Monica Bridal – not sure if they give pictures, you would have to ask.

I can’t really speak for any others. I probably will be getting mine done by IeIe Boutique because they’re actually based in the US.

The replica wont be exactly the same- but if its a good company- (see my posts about dressilyme) you might be happy.  As long YOU feel beautiful – no one will really focus on the dress material.  The offshore places- ime- take a lot of measurements and you are getting a “custom” dress- which is not what you are getting from the designer names.

The question is – where would you rather spend the money – on the dress- or on other things such as photography, flowers, food, the honeymood.

Try not to get caught up in the hype of designer names.  Use the salons to find the right design for you- aline, sweatheat, mermaid, etc etc.  Once you find the right look then search the offshore for that style.

Dont  get caught in all the hype. No one is going to say “oooh she didnt have a designer dress” but you will want great photos, and a great party.

Just an opinion from an older bride woring on wedding 2.0

I agree w/ the other B’s regarding checkin out other designers…Have you tried once wed and or preowned…maybe you can find another bride who has worn the dress and is now selling for less…

If you still want to go w/ the China made dresses, I would do the research….the dress probably would be similar but the intricate beading work might be a lil different….so it would really depend on how particular you are.

I also agree with regards to not getting “hyped” up about the label…IMO….the bride works the dress not the other way around…

Good luck

this is my replica Demetrios ,  bought from Dream Dress  in China.  i asked for the colour change,  and am very happy with the likeness.

the original Demetrios Illusions 3217  is £1,000

and my Chinese Replica was £165 with free shipping,  they even sent 3 spare flowers so that i can make a hair decoration ,  so that they will be an exact match,  and that was a freebie.

Original Demetrios

Chinese Replica,  with colour changed to Champagne Gold at my request

I ordered mine from Dressilyme and all came out great. I would suggest them to anyone. I think this post is why I originally looked into them. Thanks YSQueen.

AnneB– You know I love your dress Kiss I am too happy for you.

@anne B:

Haha!! Well you know I can tell it is a gorgeous dress and the craftsmanship is lovely. You should definetly post pics of you in it and tell us how you feel about the material. I am so excited for you because it really resembles your image. I think they caught the best essence of your dress.
