About 18 months ago, I found a house I loved, and low-balled an offer, knowing I would go up 50,000 if needed. They laughed at my offer, and I found out from my realtor they turned down an offer $100,000 higher than mine, and there was no way the house was worth that, so I walked away. I found my house, which is a lot smaller/less fancy, but much better for FH’s and my lifestyle (much lower maintenance). I found out today the house just sold for what I originally offered. I can’t believe it!

Oh thats a bummer!! Was it on the market for awhile after you had put your offer in? The sellers probably realized they were being rediculous and dropped their price!

It was on the market for 6 months when I put the offer in, and sold after 2 years on the market. They also turned down an offer for a relocation company to buy it.

Sounds like the sellers were greedy bums!!! Thats a long time for a house to sit on the market!

I think the house you end up with, is the one that’s meant to be! 🙂

I agree, your house is the one that was meant to be.
We just bought a house, and while I was here scouting places there was a house I loved that had just gotten an offer the day before I arrived in town. Boo! We looked around and found the next best thing, put an offer, and had the offer accepted. A few days later, we found out the offer on the original house fell through.
Now that I live in the neighborhood and know the streets better, I’m so glad we got this one. It may not be quite as big or as flashy, but it suits us perfectly and gives us the opportunity to do the things we want with it!

Glad you ended up with a house that works for you.. thats a good feeling.
I just found out today that the house across the street for us just sold for $11,000. That’s right, Eleven Thousand. If I had known that, i would have bought it myself! That’s insane! Makes me want to shop around the neighborhood to see what I can find!
