I, by far, prefer the second setting 🙂 I think it slightly off-sets (in a good way) the very long and slender shape of the marquise.

oooh, I like the first one!

I like the first setting- I think the second setting kind of overwhelms your diamond.

I like the second one just because I’m not a fan of the prongs at the tip of the marquise in the first one.
ETA: The description reads really strangely as well: “This Show Stopper holds a marquis center 5.00ct or larger”. Are they saying that 5 carats is the smallest diamond meant for that setting? Or just saying that it could go 5 carats and beyond!

Mmmmm. I’m loving the first one! The second one I think will end up too gaudy with a 2 carat diamond. You really don’t need to add anything to a beautiful like that. 🙂

I like the first one! The second one has too much going on for me and my eyes cant decide which part to look at.

@SapphireSun: Usually it means at least 5 ct.
HOWEVER… all you need to do is get the jeweler to shorten the prongs. My setting is a Scott Kay and it wasn’t supposed to hold less than a 1.5-2ct. diamond.
The saleswoman told my Fiance this, and it wasn’t until he threatened to leave without buying a thing that they agreed to set my .51 ct diamond in it- now it looks perfect!

I like the first as well.

The first one is so elegant! I mean c’mon, they’re both gorgeous but since you have to choose… The first would be my pick.

I LOVE the first setting! The gallery is great, and I think the halo is a bit too busy.

The first one is very pretty, the second is a bit too much for me. Why don’t you add a poll for quicker responses?

The second for sure!! I guess it really depends on your personality. I see the first one as more subtle, beautifully subtle and delicate. Whereas the second one looks to me quite elegant and ‘vintage’. I love halos so I’d choose second 🙂
