@waitingforthering2:  Oh my god I love this dress! It has a beautiful, airy, dream-like quality to it. Is it a little extravagant for a small, courthouse wedding? Yes … but who cares! It is YOUR day and you should wear what you want, there are no rules saying you cant! I think if you wear your simple, everyday dress, you will alway look back and wish you had worn something like this instead. So I say go for it!

(My fiance and I were thinking of eloping but one of the reasons I didn’t want to elope is because I wanted to wear a gown and thought that eloping meant I ‘couldn’t’ wear something like that. A part of me regrets not just doing the eloping thing and wearing what I wanted!)

@waitingforthering2:  If you love this dress, wear it! Who cares if it’s just a simple courthouse ceremony, it’s still your wedding and you deserve to wear your dream dress. Go for it 🙂

@waitingforthering2:  I don’t know how “dressy” you are in your day to day life but the way I look at it, your wedding is one of the few days of your life when it’s more than okay to go all out and wear something you normally wouldn’t. I guess it depends on what kind of person you are but I would definitely regret wearing a simple dress instead of my dream one, even if it seemed a little too much for my simple wedding.

Have you tried on your dream dress? How does it make you feel? Did you smile from ear to ear when you put it on? Did it make you feel happy? If the answer is yes, wear it – I’m pretty sure you’ll never regret it!

@waitingforthering2:  i love it! i think its very Sex and the City! who says you can’t go all out for a courthouse! i think that would look great in the photos! its not princessy its more couture! we are just starting the planning process and everything will be small and simple excluding my dress! i looooove clothes! i’m not wearing something simple and boring just because we’re having a small event! Go for it!!

@waitingforthering2:  i wouldn’t rate it a princes style dress at all! princess style would not be my thing either, but i do like some full dresses. i think this is def couture, the fabric around the shoulders really add that touch, i actually haven’t see that on any wedding dress before in real life! my sister got married a few years back and was insisting on having a fitted lace dress, every one she tried on she just felt a bit meh in. The consultant forced her (literally) to try on a fullish non lace dress and instantly she was like ” oh wow i feel like a bride” that was her dress. i think every girl wants to feel like a bride.

@waitingforthering2:  Do you think it could be this dress with some extra tulle draped around the shoulders? It looks very similar. At least you could go and try it on to see how it makes you feel since it’s so similar.

I agree with Bettyboo1982, I don’t think the dress from your inspiration picture looks like a trendy princess dress at all either! It’s very much a couture dress, quite fashion forward, sure, but there’s nothing princessy about it.
