Hello Bees! I need your help on deciding on my wedding location. I’ve hit a wall on trying to decide on my wedding location which would either be at vegas in a hotel chapel such as mandalay bay, or the pricer option of something closer to home (pine rose in lake arrowhead). I have made a pro and con list of each and still can’t decide. My parents and FH all like vegas because it’s cheaper and its fun. And i do like vegas for those two reasons. It’s just that i know many will not show up, and my already-small-wedding-of-60 will probably be around 25. The wedding i envisoned in my mind and on pinterest just isn’t going to happen. I really do want to like and be 100% comfortable with vegas because it’s cheaper and easier on everyone. I don’t have many friends or any family besides my parents, and i haven’t met me FH’s extended family, therefore a home wedding could be boring and quiet according to my FH. I know that i can include some of the trad aspects of a home wedding to the vegas one, such as adding some DIY elements, having a cake, having bridesmaids to get ready with in the morning, etc. And some stuff I’ll just have to let go of like the wedding dance with my dad and FH, garter toss, cutesy centerpieces, etc. I really feel torn between them both, and i do feel bad actually to have a home wedding thats going to cost at least $15,000 and maybe more….and it would be hard to not invite people close to home while inviting others. Also, I know some feel comfortable with it, but I don’t think I would feel comfortable walking around vegas in my wedding dress as we hop around after the wedding dinner to different hotels. I’ve always wanted a white wedding dress and to enjoy my day in it. Gosh girls I really am confused. IF i did do the home wedding, and it turned out to be pretty quite and boring (both me and my FH are kinda shy) I would feel horrible that it didn’t turn out how i thought it would be and that we spent so much money, can anyone give me some insight, advice, or story from their personal experience? Thank you to all for taking the time to help me with this.
