I'm biased because I actually wore the second dress as a bridesmaid this past summer. We got to pick out own dresses and thats the one I chose. I really do love it but there is one exception. The fabric gets REALLY wrinkled as you wear it. That would give a plus to the first dress b/c thats a different fabric, you can tell FH that its an "elegant" fabric :)
I love that you take your FI's opinion into everything! I am the exact same way. I want his opinion on EVERYTHING for the wedding, so that it is truly OUR wedding, and not MY wedding and oh yeah that groom over there haha!
However, I did NOT get his opinion on dresses of any sort because I truly believe that that is between me and my girls. We are the ones wearing the dresses, not him, and, quite frankly, my FI kinda has a horrible sense of style for clothes anyway!
Since neither of your BMs care, and your MOH really likes the first one, I say go for the first one. Your girls are going to look classy and elegant in any of those dresses, especially since they will be all made up that night. So on this one I would go against FI's wishes and with MOH's, because she's the one who actually has to wear it :)
@Oribel013690: lol he's sitting here arguing with me as I put this up! I was leaning towards the first one since the beginning and he's still on about it. I said "you told me I could tell you to shut up so I think I am" and he said "oh good, well then tshirt tuxedos for the guys it is!" he's such a pain in the ass :P
@june42011: I didn't even think about that, thank you for pointing that out!
my bridesmaids are wearing this dress...
its comfortable and looks great on! I like the material better than the charmuese. It has pockets and my cousin has this dress in black and she wears it all the time so its totally re-wearable. And I have it in lapis at my house right now, and its absolutely stunning! It was a great pick for BM dresses!
I love a dress with pockets but I voted for the first one. That is my "favorite" fabric for bridesmaids dresses.
@KLloyd1: i tried to get them to try that one on but they kept saying it felt like cardboard and was too stiff! I was too tired to fight it lol :P
@jessjess: same here, we almost picked a chiffon dress from JCrew but they sold out before we could get everyone's sizes. I am leaning towards it...
I am partial to the first one because I don't like satin BM dresses. I don't think the "shine" looks good in pictures. But that is just me. I appreciate your FI opinion, but I think that the 1st dress is prfect for evening formal.
I think the first one looks like it would be more flattering on varying figures. He may just need to see the first one dressed up to be sold. For a may wedding I think they will look great.
I think the cut of the first dress is more flattering. The second and third look like they'll be out of style sooner too. And I agree with previous posters about the shine on satin in pictures looking bad.
If FI doesn't like dress #1, maybe look for another A-line dress without the layers in the skirt. That might also make it look more formal.
I really like the second one! I think it's sleek and classy, and your girls could definitely wear it again.
I am going to say #1!
Because like your MOH said it does make even these tiny skinny models look boxy!
All three dresses are kind of similar...why not put each girl in a different dress...or you could let MOH wear the one she likes and put the other two in a different dress.
I may be a little biased, but I like the second one. Its the same design of my BM dresses.
How tall are your BMs because the last one seems quite short. Altho I do like that style in general, i would like it much more if it were a bit longer

I finally got to go dress shopping with two of my three bridesmaids while I was home for the holidays, and I swear it made me more confused. We went to a normal bridal salon and found out that every single dress was over $160, which I just thought was unacceptable for my BMs to pay, so we headed over to David's Bridal. We loved some of their dresses! But the BMs differ in opinion and it's making me confused because I hate being the bad guy and telling someone what to wear...
My MOH (my sister) really loves the first dress. She's not crazy about the second because she thinks it will make her look boxy, but they didn't have it in her size. The second BM looked great in all the dresses and I know she doesn't care, and the third girl told me I can put her in whatever I want. My sister is the one with the dissenting opinion...always.
And then to throw further confusion, FI actually came with us to look at dresses, and had opinions! He doesn't like the first dress because he doesn't think its evening formal, he calls it the "floofy dress". He thinks the charmuese satin dresses look more elegant. I always take his opinion into account because hey, its his wedding too. He told me I can tell him to shut up if I want but now I already know his opinion so I'm hella confused.
Which do you like better? I hate dress shopping and I want it to be OVER!!
