FI got engaged on Christmas last year. We won’t be getting married until June 2015. We’re not in a huge rush to get anything done but we’d like to get our engagement pictures taken soon. So we’re debating which season we’d like to take them in. Help us decide!
Same season we got engaged in, started dating
We’re winter people
Snow is so pretty
It’s cold and uncomfortable
Snow is unpredictable
Very pretty landscapes
Don’t have to bundle up
Lots of places to go
Not hot or snowy
Not as many bugs
Trees changing colors are pretty
Weather unpredictable (might be hot, might snow)
Fall is super trendy (I hate trendiness)

@Omgbunnies: I’m loving the idea of winter engagement photos, so I went searching for inspiration photos. Here are a few:
There are a ton more, but I just think playing in the snow is an excellent way to capture photos! 😀

Are you really getting married in the summer? If your date is right, this could be a great opportunity to get some fall or winter pictures, for your engagement shots! You can get your sunshiny, summer pictures during your wedding, if you want.

I love winter e-pics but I hate slushy snow. And it can be below 0 sometimes. We thought about summer because it would be fun but my hair is frizzy prone. In the end, we decided on early fall. Still warm enough to have fun. Plus who doesn’t love the foliage?!

I would do fall, it has the best weather IMO. That’s what we did and I don’t think our pictures are super trendy. It’s only super trendy if you make it that way. I.e. playing in the leaves, dressing in fall colors, etc. We just wore normal clothes in the colors that can be worn anytime of the year and did normal couple pictures. The one and only fall related thing we did was climb in the cotton field and take pictures…which are my favorite!

How about doing different season sessions? We did fall for ours and were going to also do spring ones but didn’t get around to it.

We are getting married next summer and were going to do engagement pics this summer- we got engaged last summer. But – I want something different – so I believe we will be doing them in fall/winter. I don’t see fall pics as being trendy – but maybe that’s because people I know just got engagement pics when they could.

@pengoala: I was about to compliment you on your photos, but then I noticed the different girls lol. Those are super cute though!

we’re doing the winter because it’s when we met/started dating! I’d love to do spring but we’re getting married in October and I’d like to get my e-pics far enough ahead of time for save-the-dates, so we’ll just have to do a “couples” photo shoot sometime later in the spring, maybe the following year!

I’ll let you know that winter e sessions are not as fun as they look! I’m in canada and its darn cold. People normally give up half way through and they often take 3-4 tries to schedule.

My skin gets super flushed when I’m out in the cold, so even though I’m a total winter girl, I wouldn’t want a bunch of pictures taken of me looking like I’ve just been roundly slapped about the face.
Summer’s too hot and I sweat like a beast.
Either fall or spring would be my pick – in the fall, you get the gorgeous colors on the trees. In the spring, flowers and trees are blooming and everything looks so lush and fresh.
