I like a few dresses, but I cant seem to find one dress that has it all. I do NOT want a ballgown and I like things with rhinestones and something maybe a little surprising and less traditional. There could just be one thing about a dress that makes it my dress, I just dont know what it is yet. I havent tried on any dresses yet, so maybe thats where I am going wrong bc I have no idea what I should be wearing. I have found 2 completely different dresses that I really like. One is exactly the type of top that I want, but I am NOT a fan of the tulle bottom and also not an $11,000 price. The other I really like bc it is simple, in my price range, and the slit seems to add the little surprise that I am looking for (However, not sure if I should go for something more A-Line). Tell me what you think! I need help…has everyone had that perfect moment when trying on a dress, or is it just like every other purchase…just get it done and get married? Ok, im rambling on now…sorry. Just thought this would be my favorite part….just havent found anything to get excited about!

It’s best that you go try on dresses first.
I know that when I was looking for a dress, the dresses that I thought would look good on me didn’t.

I agree, go and try so on. I also didn’t end up with anything that I thought I originally wanted, what I thought I really wanted just didn’t look very good on me.

you should go in with a few pics, and a basic of idea of what you’d like – for somewhere to start, but try on everything! you might be surprised at what you feel comfortable or look good in! I’ve had “the moment” with about 3 dresses 🙂 I’ve gotta stop looking, I tell ya! good luck!

@doublea2a: Hi, dear! My bit of advice would be to take your time…don’t rush to find “the one.” I put a hefty deposit on my 1st dress (yes, I’m a 2-dress bride) 10 months out from my wedding date. Then, Vera Wang debuted her White line at David’s Bridal, and I bought my dream dress 4 days ago. Do a search on the boards and you’ll find plenty of stories about questing for the dream dress. Dress regret is no fun, and I’ll probably walk away from the deposit because reselling a dress is difficult. Good luck, and I hope you find the one that makes you feel fabulous 🙂

Thank you for that! You are probably right. I thought of that. Our wedding is not for about a year. Im sure by that time, there will be a whole new wave of dresses coming soon for the fall. After a long weekend of pulling my hair out I have officially decided to just relax and enjoy the process and focus on the fun of it all. It only lasts for 6 hours anyway haha…I dont want to spend the next year stressing over something that is supposed to be such a happy occasion.
