Just a little vent/support seeking…
I have a beautiful engagement ring that I LOVE, and picked out a mismatching band a few months ago that I also love. We ordered our bands as the price of gold was rising so it’s a little expensive. I cannot pay off the balance to the jeweler to actually take my ring home with me (FI has his) and it does not look like we will have the money to pay it off any time soon due to some recent financial trouble in the family business. I know I shouldn’t worry so much about material things but I am a little bummed… It’s just sitting at the jewelers and I can’t have it 🙁
I’m okay with getting another ring for the ceremony but I don’t want to spend a lot at all, because I’ve already put down money on this other ring. The problem is I have size 4 fingers and can’t find anywhere that carries that size… Has anyone had this situation? What did you do for the ceremony/pictures?
Fiance wants me to have a ring besides my Engagement Ring which I understand, as I will be married, not engaged.

Oh no! I’m sorry to here about the ring problem. Have you explained your financial situation to the jeweller? Maybe he could let you make a payment after taking home the ring or come to an agreement over a payment plan? Is there anything you could sell, maybe have a garage sale to make the amount you need?

I can’t imagine how dissappointed you must feel…I’m sorry to hear about your situation. Maybe you can’t find a size 4 for your ring finger, but what about wearing the wedding band on your right hand on a finger with a bigger (more readily available) size? I see ladies now and again who prefer to wear just their engagement rings on the left and choose to wear their wedding bands on their right hand.

Can you pick up a weekend job for a couple months to pay off the balance? Even just working at a coffee shop for a couple shifts a week will add up.

Do you have anything you could sell to get the money to get your ring? Maybe some old gold necklaces or rings. You can get a really good price for old gold jewelry right now. Or maybe you could sell some things on Craigslist.

Thanks for the tips ladies! I actually found one I really like on Etsy in rose gold and it’s only $180… we’ll use it for the ceremony and pay off the other ring later and then I guess I’ll be a stacked ring bride!
