Shred then beer. If it helps, I am enjoying a nice cold Heineken right now. Probably doesn't help...
Drink the beer! You don't want skunky beer sitting around, do you?
Alternatively, work out WHILE drinking beer. I find that alcohol makes exercise far more tolerable.
Drink the beer and then work out! Drinking beer will help relax your muscles :-)
@ThunderBunny: Well, damn, never thought of that. That right there might get me to exercise...
@MrsSl82be: I can't tell you how many times I've been on the damn elliptical flipping magazine pages with one hand and drinking with the other.
@ThunderBunny: I need to get an at home gym so I can drink, don't think I would find one taht I could go to that wouldn't kick me and my 6 pack out
@ThunderBunny: I don't think it'll work as well during plyometrics and plank positions, unfortunately. I'll have to get a dark water bottle for the gym, though. haha!
@MrsSl82be: Brown bag!
I say drink the beer... but only because I just got home with full intentions of going for a run but had some wine instead. Oops.
I might be gullible, but do you guys really drink before and/or during working out? Sometimes (or, TODAY) I come home from work and want a drink, then I think "damn, there goes working out for the day."
Doesn't it make you super dehydrated? Am I missing out on something grand?
When I was watching my weight for my wedding, I found it actually helped me a LOT mentally if I gave in to skipping excersize and having a beer if I was really craving it. I would compensate and eat less dinner and actually end up losing a few ounces as a result. That may sound crazy, but it worked! Then since I took a day off, I would be all revved up to go running the next day.
I just feel a lot more motivated when I have a few drinks. Like today; I worked a half day because I have to work on Saturday, so I had a couple screwdrivers then proceeded to:
Whereas on a normal day after work, I flop on the couch and play Call of Duty for a few hours, then consider the rest of the day a lost cause and do nothing.
@moderndaisy: Yeah. I find it's usually better to give into the cravings before they overwhelm me and I do something really bad! I counted my calories, and even if I have two beers, I'll still be under 1400 calories! And, I mean. . . is 1550 calories really so bad either? ;)
@PitBulLover: is that the trick? Hmm... I might be able to start working out after all! LOL
lol Good! Im in the mood to work out and then make some awesome pasta! I miss beer...actually I miss any and all intoxicating drinks lol
damn this diet!
Sometimes if you reward yourself, the next day you are focused again and may be able to stay on track the rest of the week. Enjoy!
@RR: I sure hope so. I tried to Shred and it was pretty much an utter failure. I better be back at it tomorrow!
@Keltaena: Ive been craving beer for the past few days too and I think (since my husband has been gone for 5 days already) that I will give in too :-)
@adw2c: And important B vitamins!
Not to mention other healthy effects: http://www.forbes.com/2008/03/14/beer-drink-health-forbeslife-cx_avd_0317health.html
@ThunderBunny: Me likey this idea! Drinking + working out sounds like fun!

Man, I am craving a beer right now. But if I have one, I will have at least two. I had this feeling last night, but I managed to resist. I've been thinking about it all day! But, I'm trying to be all fit and healthy and stuff, so I should go to the gym. And I only have three days of the 30-Day Shred left, so I should probably do that. I feel guilty if I do have beer, but I want it! I feel like being bad! Screw it. I'm never gonna be thin anyway. Also, I have a lot of beer in my pantry and it does expire after a while. I think some might expire in August!
Should I work out or drink beer? Or maybe I should Shred and then drink beer instead of going to the gym.
mmm, beer. I think beer is going to win.
Who's with me?
PS-Also, this is my 1,000th post! I think that deserves a celebration. lol
