our colors are black, white, & fuchsia.
FI is wearing a fuchsia tie and vest. His best man is wearing a black vest and fuchsia tie. & his other groomsmen are wearing black vests and ties. I tried to get my dad to wear the same colors as the best man and he flat out refused. He's wearing a traditional tux with a black bow tie instead.
P.S. I LOVE LOVE LOVE EXPRESS TIES!!!
Is your objection to the tie because he's a man? I don't know if this will make any difference but men wear pink all the time here in Europe. As wierd as it sounds, my FI's best looking shirts are pink.
SIL's boyfriend has pink pants. I'm not kidding (odd colored pants are a sign of wealth here in a certain part of the NL).
First - I LOVE the express ties! Those are great!
Second - I don't really see the problem with putting your dad in a pink tie if you want him to match the weding colors. I really like guys in pink - one of my favorite dress shirts my FI owns is pink (and the other is purple).
But if you really don't want him in a pink tie, I'd recommend having him wear a tie that coordinates with whatever color dress your mom is wearing. That's what my dad is doing.
I surely wouldn't over rule your FH because its his big day too, I would talk to your dad, and use the sappy eye look, and if he still won't do it, I would say stay with that style tie in black (awesome ties by the way!) I am sure if you talk to him sincerely your dad will come around though (its only one day, and it would mean a lot to me on my wedding day, please dad). Good luck, let us know what you decide!
Why can't your dad wear the green tie? I think it makes the most sense for him to match the groomsmen anyway. My husband was the only one in a black tux with and ivory vest and all the other men (groomsmen and both dads) wore black vests.

My wedding colors are orange, pink with green accent. BM dresses are black. Flowers are orange and pink. All the men are wearing black suits (from their closets). My FH liked these (see link) loud ties from Express (which I origianlly liked too, but now having doubts).
I want my Dad's tie to work with the rest of the ties, but there is no way I will ever be able to put him in a loud pink tie. What should I do?!? HELP!!
