It might be “the one”…
It might be “the one”…
I don’t really like it. Sorry.
The way the pickups are arranged make it look like there’s a brighter white stripe around your thigh region. They look sort of out of place, and really pickups are kind of dated anyway.
But the good news is that you have a great figure, and I am sure that if you are waffling on this dress, you’ll be easily able to find another one that looks great on you.
I love it! Very regal, and it fits you beautifully.
I think it’s very pretty.. but I really don’t like pickups like those. I think they cheapen the dress.
But, if you love the it, go for it!
If you aren’t super excited about it, keep trying on dresses until you find the one!
It looks nice on you. As others have said, I’m just not a fan of the pick ups and I find that gold on dresses makes them looked kind of dated or medieval looking. Just a personal preference though!
I love it! I’m not usually a pick-up fan but these totally work for you and for the dress. I absolutely love it– you look amazing!
I’m not a fan of pick-ups in general…to me they make the dress look a bit cheap and chintzy. I also think it’s one of those fads where we are going to look back at it and say “WTF were we thinking??!”
I agree with a PP that the bodice and skirt almost appear to be different shades of white/off white.
But at the end of the day it is YOUR wedding and you should pick something you feel fabulous in!
I don’t really like it it makes me think of repunzel for some reason
I don’t like it either. I can’t put my finger on it, but it looks dated.
@sunflower22: It’s hard because I don’t know you and your personal style! The dress is not for me, but there are a lot of positives about it!
I think it looks GREAT on your bod! Very princessy and regal, if that’s what you’re going for. I don’t like pick ups in general, but the bodice and bottom have enough detailing going on that balance that out a little bit. It’s a little less modern than a lot of the bees tend to like around here, but on the right bride at the right wedding, it could be amazing.
Only you can fill in the blanks to determine whether its the right one or not!
Sounds like it’s time to throw some alternatives into consideration! (Sorry for awkward cropping.)
Here’s Dress 2, which everyone agrees looks best on me, but I don’t really like the embroidery at the bottom. It looks so…exactly like every other wedding dress I’ve ever seen, y’know? Also, my BM fell in love with it, and she might get engaged soon, and so I gave her the green light to buy it if she wants, so it might be out of the running for her sake.
Everyone agreed that Dress #3 didn’t look right on my shape, but I’m gonna put it in here anyway, because I kinda liked it, and I’d like some more opinions.
I agree with @EffieTrinket:. I think you have a beautiful figure and should easily be able to find something else that you will love even more!
That particular dress has a great deal of detailing on it (heavily encrusted bodice, pick ups, a peek-a-boo bottom) the individual components of which may be beautiful alone on another dress, but, together on this one, actually compete with each other to make the dress look overly texturized, too busy, and, as prior posters have suggested, a bit dated.
I do absolutely love the sweetheart neckline and A-Line/drop-waisted ball gown silhouette on you, however! I think that is an excellent choice!
I’m not a huge fan of huge rings and huge diamonds, I think they look gaudy, but that is just not me. I don’t tell everyone how much I dislike them so I’m sorry that you aren’t getting much support. I really love the bodice, the skirt isn’t much my style but it is pretty and if you like it, go for it!!
Not my style. but it looks great on you.
