@MissKit:  maybe a band with paved diamonds? They’re typically thicker rand sit higher than the plain bands. Here is mine, white gold with paved diamonds. Got it for less than $300 at Macy’s 🙂

@MissKit:  Have you tried looking at Etsy?  They have a lot of plain gold bands, prices differ depending on seller.  Some seem to be more expensive, but some seem very reasonably priced.  I would try looking there.

You could always try ebay as well.

@MissKit:  i think if you want the band to sit as high as your ring you might want to look at bands with diamonds.  the prongs/setting will make it higher.  these pics give you an example of what i mean.

@MissKit:  i don’t think you need to solder them.  some people do b/c their rings turn.

@MissKit:  I had to solder my first wedding set. It drove me BONKERS that they wouldn’t stay straight on my finger.

ETA: Have you thought of a non-domed band, the kind with a more squared off edge. Sorry, I don’t know exactly what it’s called. Or maybe a coin edge, those are interesting.

@MissKit:  The e-ring was 1/3 ct. (which was the norm where I lived) yellow gold band (again, norm in 1999) with channel set chips in the band and then then channel set chips in the wedding band also. When I say chips I just mean small diamonds, but they weren’t small enough like for pave. And they were all the same size, they didn’t taper. I actually don’t have even one picture of it, besides the picture in my mind, lol. It just made me nuts when one band would spin a little and the ends of the channels didn’t match up. That is why this time I got a completely different setting for my e-ring and I plan to get an actual wedding band and not a wedding ring (my understanding being that a band is the same all around and a ring tapers to the bottom) So a band has no top or bottom and a ring does.
