    This can easily be resolved with a pregnancy test. The OTC ones are perfectly accurate.

    I’m not on BC now but when I used to be if I switched around brands it would mess with my body and my period for at least a few months.

    Let me make sure I’m reading this right.  You haven’t had sex in 4 months, you had protection from both a pill and a condom, and have had 3 different periods since then.  Plus, you had a negative HPT this past week.

    No – you are not pregnant.

    @Mrs.KMM:  +1 [million]

    Just an FYI, stress and anxiety (which goes along with paranoia) can also cause some weird things to happen with your body, such a screwing with your period.

    Changing birth controls can affect/change your periods and your body greatly. Pretty sure thats why you’ve been noticing some weird changes.

    Don’t worry your not pregnant.

    Progesterone only will make your periods shorter and lighter… progesterone “mows” and estrogen “grows” the lining of the uterus (med student here, had to remember them somehow for tests LOL).  Continued use of only progesterone makes the lining much thinner, therefore making you have shorter, lighter periods, and then one month it may build up a little more to give you a bit of a heavier period. If the last time you did the deed was 4 months ago, there is no way that a home pregnancy test would show a negative if you did conceive then.  Especially since you used a condom and you are pretty positive it didn’t malfunction–you are probably not pregnant.  When you suspect you are pregnant, you can go on and on and think that every little thing you’re body is going through is because you are pregnant (I used to do this a lot). Early pregnancy sign..boobs hurting. Ohhh well come to think of it, my boobs DO kind of hurt!?  You can even talk your brain into believing you have other early pregnancy signs when really, most super early pregnancy signs are the same as PMS before AF.  Well DH got sick of me freaking him out all the time, so if ever I am in doubt, I just take a test to be sure.

    As for the “I didn’t know I was pregnant” show, ‘Da Nile is not only a river that runs through Egypt.  I wouldn’t believe everything you hear or see on those shows.. those are freak incidences that are pretty unlikely.  If you pay attention to your body and are regular and aware of changes, you would probably be able to tell if you were pregnant or not by now.

    If you still have doubts, then go see a doctor to get a for-sure I’m not pregnant diagnosis.

    I will start this with the caviot that it’s always possible unless you’re abstinant there is no way to be 100% “safe”. But the chances of you being pregnant are about as good as my chances of becoming an olympic basketball player (with my impressive stature of 5’3″ Smile

    Seriously– chill out.  The changes in your period and the soreness are due to hormone changes from the birth control, especially if you’ve recently switched and gone back your body needs some time to work out the kinks and normalize again.  This is perfectly normal.  There was absolutely nothing in your post that indicated that you might be pregnant.

    If you still need to ease your mind go to the doctor and have a blood test done, but honestly they’ll tell you you’re nuts.  The women who show those low levels often have other medical conditions that mask or inhibit the HCG production or they are morbidly obese, or have some other extreme circumstance; 99.9999999% of women don’t qualify for those scenarios.

    You’re not pregnant.

    4 months you are not pregnant, you would have started to show by now, you should have had some degree of nausea, or other pregnancy sign like fluttering in your stomach, Hot flushes, painful breasts, weirdly strong sense of smell etc

    Whilst I was on the pill (now this is going back about 8 years or more) I missed my periods COMPLETELY for 3 consecutive months, I won’t go into details why but it was a very stressful time for me and no I didn’t think I was pregnant as I was stressed about something else.
