Ever since we started living together, I have a hard time falling asleep when he is gone for the evening. I feel so lame! Any other bee's feel this way?

I agree with you!  It has improved a little lately but when he first started going away for work, I couldn't go to sleep until 5am and then slept half the day.  There is just something about being alone at night in a strange place that terrifies me.

my FI is gone for the night too!  I usually stay up until I can't take it anymore....I am always up late though--night owl here!  I hope you can get some sleep soon...watch a movie in bed!  That always gets me

My husband is away all week.  At least I have a few things to keep me entertained, nothing really tomorrow so I don't have to worry about sleeping late!

@virginiamarie, thats what I do! Right now I'm reading the forums, looking at A2 apartments on craigslist and catching up on tv on hulu. Even though I work early mornings 1/2 of the week I'm up until 12 most nights, I just can't fall asleep earlier.

Poor puppy misses FI...he's curled up on one of his shirts that was on the floor.

On my hubby's last deployment I had trouble sleeping the first month or so, but then I kind of got used to having the cal king all to myself and I had to get used to sharing again when he came home :)
I agree with virginiamarie watching movies helps and reading too :)

you're the cutest, of course you're not alone!

If he's gone for the full night, I get paranoid for safety reasons ("did I lock the door?  what's that sound?") - he's my guard dog.

If he just comes home late, I usually end up staying awake until he gets home.  Trying to sleep, but realliy just waiting for the keys in the door so I can talk his ear off...:)

but no you're not alone at all!!

I honestly stay up so late when he isn't here :( But reading and watching movies helps...I usually try to read because WB and tv keep me up too late (today is case n point! It is 2:30 a.m here!!) but as soon as I fall asleep sleep right through the night, curled up...which is funny because when he is here I like to sprawl out. I always tell him I NEED a king bed (right now we are rocking a queen) and want the Cal King Temperpedi ;)

My FI travels quite a bit for work and when he's gone I have the hardest time trying to sleep. Sometimes, when it's really bad, I'll take OTC meds to help me sleep because he'll be gone for weeks and I would be a zombie if I didn't. If it doesn't really matter if I sleep or not I stay up late watching movies, reading, or talking to friends online, then I cuddle with the dog and kittys to make the bed seem a little bit smaller. My mom said she is the same way, my dad has conferences and meetings OOT a few times a year and she sleeps like crap when he's gone. I feel your pain, I don't know what it is really, maybe just so use to him being there? I know I also feel safer when he's in bed with me.

I drag my cats into bed with me as a replacement. They know he's gone and take over his pillow =]

I definatly know this feeling. I just sent FI a text last weekend telling him; I couldn't fall asleep when he wasn't home... lol Now I know what my mom was talking about when I was a teen..... She always told me that too. She would worry until she knew I was home @ night... She's Always Right!

Yes, definitely I have the same problem!! Or if I'm gone traveling and he's not with me I have a hard time falling asleep too. When he's not there, it's like my mind just races and can't stop thinking about stuff when I'm trying to go to sleep. His presence is like my brain's mute button lol. Sleeping together will never get old!
