So I've been good about working out at least 5 days/wk...but I can't seem to stop eating!!  I REALLY want to lose at least 5 and closer to 10 lbs before my wedding, and I know I still have plenty of time, but if I don't get a grip on my food consumption I know no matter how much I exercise my weight won't change.

My office caters all of our meals and offers pretty much any snack imaginable, so even if I head to the kitchen for just a bottle of water I end up snagging best-case an orange but more likely a cookie on my way out the door.  This happens multiple times each day.

I think because I'm at a weight that's pretty much normal, I don't feel fat and know I don't NEED to lose the weight - but I still really WANT to.  Does anyone else have this motivation problem?  I know part of the blame is the weather which makes me just want to curl up on the couch with my dogs, a cup of coffee and a huge slice of Irish soda bread (which I made 2 nights ago and is delightful), but I really don't want to wait till my dress comes in and then try to crash diet that last month.  I thought once I ordered the dress my discipline would increase, but no it's actually gotten worse, and I'm actually afraid I'm going to GAIN weight=(

Welcome to my world. a lot of the eating is caused by all the exercise. But your right u wont loose weight if you eat heaps especially as you are in your healthy range. You are just going to have to be strict, and maybe say to yourself, nothing tastes as good as feeling thin feels, that works for me (sometimes) lol

I have the same problem - my new trick is to say "Okay, you think you want this. Walk back to your desk. Sit there for 15 minutes and start working. If, after 15 minutes you notice that the snack is still haunting you, you can go back and get it if it's still there."

That way, even if I decide I really want the snack, I'm at least putting in a few more steps to get it.

I feel you! I've also been working out at leas 4-5x a week and I've been eating fruit for breakfast and healthy whole wheat sandwiches for lunch... but then my sister comes home (I live with my sis right now) and she LOVES to cook. Sometimes her meals are semi healthy, but normally they aren't. Last night she made fajitas and tonight she's making fried chicken! She loves to cook and it's only gotten worse b/c shes prego and I think that nesting urge is kicking in. After a long day of working out and eating right I don't want to eat her yummy food, but it's SO good! I've been working my butt off at the gym and the scale hasn't moved an ounce :(

Another idea is to try drinking a lot of water during the day and chewing gum.  By keeping my mouth occupied, I don't feel the need to snack on everything in sight.  Also, Goldilocks idea about sitting down and waiting for 15 minutes can help too.

Yes!  I have been working out and I eat like a pig later at night.  Like tonight, I didn't want the second serving to save on calories... and I tried to talk myself out of it and eat more veggies but it didn't work.

Wonder why that is?  But at this rate I won't lose an ounce!
