- Wedding: May 2015
I am planning a wedding for May 2015. I am so stressed. I don’t like the idea of a super formal ballroom.. or anything like that. Instead I prefer a little more homey/rustic type room. I have checked out every barn, rustic, formal, etc building within a decent radius.
The barn in Lousiville is ridiculously expensive and out of budget.
The rustic center at Walsh is too open for a may day incase it is chilly or cold still, and too large for the number of guests I have (they said they seat up to 300 and will not remove any tables or chairs, I just have to “push them to the side out of the way”)
We visited Skyland Pines on Tuesday (two days ago) and I loved it. It was a little bit more pricey than I had wanted, but it included EVERYTHING – set up, tear down, all food, they would work with us on EVERYTHING. Today, my mom calls to verify something and the lady goes “we have someone who is coming today to look for your date, and since they put a “hold” on that date, if they pay today they get it. WELL she didn’t even tell us that you could put a hold on a date without money, and alas, they booked it for the day we wanted even though we went there first, inquired first, etc. She said “oh, i didn’t think you were that interested” we talked to her for ALMOST AN HOUR about it and the details and decorations and stuff and my mom had said “let me talk to my husband about finances and we will get back to you”
anyway, it was the perfect place, and it is booked now. And I am so frustrated. I feel like we won’t find anything that will fit with us and our budget. There is the North Canton Civic center which is beautiful and not too formal, but they provide NOTHING except tables and chairs and most of the caterers we have contacted charge x amount per every little thing. It adds up fast and we are afraid to bring in each thing spearately because what if we forget something??
Anyone ahve any suggestions on a caterer whose prices are all-inclusive, or a venue that seems afforadable and not too formal in this area? I thought we were planning far enough in advance but most places are booked. It is just very frustrated.
I even went to put money down on my dress today and just sat in the car and cried instead, like since nothing else I wanted is working out what if this isnt even the right dress??
This is a long rant, so I am sorry!
I just need any advice, tips, comments from people around!
