so when and where are you planning on getting married?
im not sure on my exact date yet.. (sometime in november/december)
at the darby house in columbus.
Yay. I actually live in Florida, but my fiance's from Akron, so we're getting married up there October 17. The wedding is going to be at Skyland Pines in Canton.
We're coming up next week for the last time before the wedding so that we can make his high-school reunion. I'm freaking out slightly as I won't be there for four months before hand.
So, has anyone been to the Green Room Spa? I'm looking for a place to give my bridesmaids massages before the wedding, but I've never been to any salon or spa up there. I saw one of their ads and it says that if you bring in five or more of your bridal party, they'll do the bride's hair for free and free sounds good to me, but I'm scared I'll turn out looking crazy since there's no time for a practice run...
I would love to know any secrets about the area that I might not think of!

I haven't been there but I can ask around and see if anyone knows anything about it.
As for secrets, if you need a good place to take pictures, try McKinley/Stadium Park in Canton. It's gorgeous, lots of tree's, a neat little garden, streams, and even a cool little waterfall. My fiance and I just had our engagement pictures taken there.

We're getting married at St. James Meeting House in Boardman Park and having our reception at the Mahoning Country Club. What are everyone else's venue selections?
hi girls! i'm originally from austintown, but i live & work in cleveland now.
i'm getting married in may at fellows riverside gardens in mill creek park. the ceremony will be outside (fingers crossed-no rain!) and the reception is inside the davis center, located within the gardens.
has anyone ever been to a wedding there before?

I haven't been to Mill Creek Park yet. I just moved to the Salem area in September. I've seen pictures online and I wished I had found the gardens before we booked our site. It's beautiful.
We are having our ceremony/reception at Salem Saxon Club.
I've been to a wedding in The Gardens before and it was absolutely beautiful! I'm sure you won't be disappointed. I've been to several events in the Davis Center, but never a wedding reception. It's a lovely facility, as well.
I finally booked my spa party. We're going to do it at Amadeus Spa in North Canton. Anyone been there? They offered great prices and could accomodate three massages at one time, which means we only have to do them in two shifts.
Now time to turn my focus to another beauty need. Does anyone have any good stylists in Canton. Near Belden Village is ideal. My last trip up to the O-H didn't leave me any time to research salons, so I will be doing hair and makeup blindly. I might have time for a trial the week-of, but maybe not.Yikes!

My hair stylist actually has a salon at Salon Suites. It's in the Belden Village area. The name of her salon is Madison Avenue. She's the owner and her name is Nikki. She does cuts and color. Her phone number is 330-705-7322. If you call her, tell her Teresa referred you. She doesn't do makeup (I think) but I'd be willing to bet that there is somebody else in the Salon Suites that does makeup. She should be able to refer you. Hope this helps.

I'm leaving in two days for my 17-hour drive to Canton for my wedding on the 17th! Yay!
Does anyone know of a place I can have my dress steamed when I get there? Anywhere in Akron, Canton or the area in between?
I am in Youngstown and getting married at Stambaugh. Anyone know a good seamstress in the area?
Akron girl here! But I'm getting married in my hometown. Ever heard of Waynesburg or Magnolia? We're about 20 mins south of Canton.
