I am right there with you!  Only for me, it’s not necessarily sweets that are doing me in.  With the holidays all my friends and family want to go out to dinner or lunch.  Or my family is so busy with Christmas stuff (I still live at home with my parents) that we get takeout for dinner at least twice a week.  I’m a little bit obsessed with buffalo chicken, and have found myself opting for it quite often.  I’m definitely not making the best decisions food-wise, but i blame it on the holidays 🙂

Dude, I’m on a carb kick to end all carb kicks today (got a RAGING case of PMS.)  It’s 10:16 here.  Let’s see what I’ve eaten so far today since 6:

Special K with banana

Energy Bar

Ritz Crackers

Bag of pretzels

And I’m still starving.  For carbs.  And there’s two whole hours before lunch still.

le sigh.

One of the reasons you are eating so much sugar may be because you are not starting the day off incredibly well. If you were heavier on your protein and ate some whole grains as opposed to cheerios which is white flour (and your body treats white, processed flour like sugar) then you may not find yourself craving it so much.  Also, eating sugar begets sugar cravings.  The more sugar you eat (processed white carbs/flour is included in this) the more you will want to eat.

Have a heavy protein lunch with veggies and little grains and with some healthy fat and you may find it easier to turn away the sugar.
