@Susanlee178:  I vote 2ct! Mine is a tiny bit over 2 excluding the shoulder stone and the ring is size 8.5 but I think I need to go up to 9 since weight gain after the wedding 🙁 I have experienced diamond shrinkage after looking at rings on the bee so that’s why I say the second option. I think it suits my hand size nicely without looking flashy. I would love a 2ct centre ONE DAY but I tnink hubby is against upgrading since it was his gift to me. I’m perfectly happy with it 🙂

( I had to crop out fingers because nails look disgusting lol)

I do think you’re a bit silly for not liking your solitaire because you think people assume it’s not what it is, but you should have whatever you’re comfortable with. With your ring size I definitely think you could pull off a 2tcw beautifully without it being too flashy 🙂

I definitely think you could pull it off, but what makes you think the large 3-stone won’t get the same questioning as the solitare? Because, it most definitely will. I went smaller for the same reason, not too flashy and I dont like people questioning its authenticity 🙂

@Susanlee178:  Greiving people can get very self-absorbed, not their fault, buts its not yours either!

Go with whichever of the three you like the most! Why don’t you just wear your wedding band to work and engagement ring at other times? I can’t upload a pic from my phone, but my preference is 1ct total weight. I’m British and maybe we do have smaller rings, but 2ct does look a bit flashy to me and i didn’t like the bigger ones when trying them on so went with a 3 stone 1 ct total and love it. I personally wouldn’t change your current one if you love it though as that is what matters!

I would keep my 2ct solitare. I can’t believe your supervisor or grieving clients (bizarre)would even mention that it is inappropriate. regardless, if I couldn’t wear anything that sparkles to work, I would only wear my wedding band.

Voted 2ct because of your finger size. I think 1ct centre with 0.5 on the sides will look perfect 🙂

Ok, so I originally voted to keep your solitaire. But on reading your situation, if you have your heart set on changing, go with the 2ct tdw. I thnk it will look better than the 1ct.

What about getting a simple metal band for work? I have one of those for when I’m feeling less flashy, it’s a nice option.

@Susanlee178:  I assume that people look at it, and assume it’s not a diamond. And while I wouldn’t care myself if it was moissy, or sapphire or cz, it isn’t, and I don’t like/want people assuming that I’m trying to “pass” something off.

I don’t understand why when you wear your diamond, you assume people think you are passing off something else.  Why do you think that?

    Pic of your ring?
