Some of the bees on the new beegest loser thread were discussing eating low carb. I too lose weight if I eat no carb/low carb. I did it back in May/June and lost weight and was feeling great, but due to a stressful summer, I gained it all back plus some and now I am at my heaviest. I really want to lose weight especially because I will TTC next year.
So my question is: can you bees that do no/carb low carb share some food ideas with me. I would really appreciate it as I am going to the grocery store this weekend and want to stock up.
I am so happy to have wedding bee to support me on my weight loss journey 🙂 No one around me understands what it is like to be overweight. My mom paid for weight watchers, but after doing it a month and half I know I need to not eat processed foods and carbs. Also, no one knows how much I actually weigh. It is noticable I gained weight, but I hide it well. I think people would be shocked to know. Ok rant done!!

I’ve never done a no carbs diet but one of my colleagues did. She basically ate everything as normal but just left out the carbs, so sauce without pasta, cheese without bread etc. I’ve been trying to cut back on my evening carbs by replacing carbs with more vegetables and eating things like ratatouille. Quinoa is also now a new favourite!

I’m not really sure what you’re asking/looking for.
For lunch and dinners, have a piece of grilled meat with a side of spinach salad or something low GI like asparagus. Snacks can be something like nuts or hard boiled eggs, or smoothies made with a low carb protein powder, unsweetened almond milk and a handful of blueberries. Scrambled egg whites (with 1 whole egg) sprinkled with a bit of feta make a good breakfast.
For me personally, I don’t do no carb, but I do avoid building my meals around carbs. We often have grilled salmon or steak for dinner, with a side of asparagus for dinner, skipping the potatoes, rice or bread. (We do sometimes have the rice and potatoe, but it’s more the exception than the rule. Neither of us are overweight or “dieting”, though I was overweight when I was younger)
