We are having a loose travel theme at our reception – a map guest book, luggage place cards, and I had wanted to use a vintage suitcase for the card holder. But then my mom mentioned she would be concerned with the security of the cards in an open suitcase.
At first I thought she was crazy, but then I started googling and looking on the Bee, and yep, it happens!! I trust our guests of course, but there are always +1’s and even worse, there are two other weddings at our venue that night.
SO – any other ideas for something slightly more secure that goes with our “theme”?

I’m using a birdcage & hanging the word cards on it covered in maps.

If you can find an inexpensive suitcase, then you could lock it and cut a slit into it for the cards.
Just an idea 🙂

1. Buy large box and world map (or gift paper with map) and wrap the box with in and make a whole. Would look like this, but only larger. You could even make it several tiers.
2. If you have Michaels store in you are, they sell these big beautiful gift boxes with different designs. I saw one like this recently ($12.99)

Ooh I love that box from Michael’s!!
the other ideas are good too – thanks ladies! I thought of the bird cafe but wasn’t sure how to make it work with the theme. I like the map covwords cards idea!
any other input?

@midwestgirl80: You can buy inexpensive suitcases at the thrift shop, paint or paper them, stack and glue them together with a slit cut in the top two suitcases.
You could also buy a set of paper suitcases online.
Buy one suitcase, lock it, cut a slit in the handle side and cover with travel stickers
trunk available on Etsy
Joanne’s had this box
