Love your ideas. You might consider consulting a travel agent. A good one will take the time to get to know you and what your ideal honeymoon would look like, and then tailor your trip to be exactly what you want. Good luck!

Check out “The Caves” in Jamaica, atleast for some of your trip. We’re spending some of our honeymoon there! We wanted similiar experiences to what you described so we split our honeymoon into three parts- the ‘adventure’ portion (mostly for me haha), ‘lay on the beach and be lazy’ portion (for the fiance), and then we’re finishing up here at the caves which is very private, romantic, and next to the water (for him) but we can jump off cliffs to get there (for me!)

If you’re open to Central America, FI and I are staying at Hamanasi Resort in Belize this November. Belize has the second largest barrier reef in the world. We are going for scuba diving, but they also have snorkeling, Mayan ruin hikes, waterfall rappelling, rainforest zip lining, and more! The resort has amazing reviews. We are staying in a treehouse off the ground! We are doing the Mayan ruin hike, diving, and hunting our own lion fish that you bring back and the chef makes them for dinner! Beautiful beaches and relaxation options. Check it out! We can’t wait!!!!

 lovecelee:

We had the EXACT same criteria for our honeymoon. Our travel agent came back with options all over the Caribbean but we decided on Antigua (we just booked it last week for January 2015).

We have heard that it has a great reputation for being a very safe island and the beaches are incredible. We booked at Sandals Grande Antigua because it is so geared towards honeymooners and there seemed to be so many included activities. However, Galley Bay was also recommended (and cheaper) and it looked amazing as well.

We were considering Belize for a while but then found out that all the beaches have turtle grass that you have to wade through to swim in the ocean. no thanks!

Jamaica, Dominican, Mexico, etc….we’ve been there enough already on spring break and cheap winter getaway type trips.

Bali, Fiji, Bora Bora were also on the list. They were strong contenders and seemed amazing but we ruled them out only because we decided we wanted somewhere that involved a shorter flight to get to.

You really can’t go worng anywhere, just be sure to look at reviews for the hotel you choose. One thing though, you will be paying a huge premium for a Dec/Jan trip, and places will be much more crowded with families and children.
