I've never had any funtions there, but I've had dinner there a few times and it's yummy!!
My parents went to a graduation party there once and said it was great. My mother just said that it gets loud in there, I guess that depends on how rowdy your crowd is. I've ordered food from there and its always great.
Oh, Carmiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnne's. YUM. The main dining room gets SO loud, but you should be perfectly fine in the private room. I'm glad you're going with the UWS location - it's much better than the theater district location, IMHO.
If you haven't already...try their fried zucchini. to. die. for. and I don't even like zucchini all that much. it's on my do not eat until after the wedding list & now I'm dying for it!
Miss Meepsie; we can't wait to have the food again! The private room was the perfect size for us too...I heard the UWS was the place to go..it's the original one...we met the woman who books the parties too..she was very nice..
@leelee - seriously, I went home tonight and made pasta because I was craving Italian after reading your post. :)
UWS is the ONLY Carmine's in my book!
Another fave of ours is the Chicken Scarpariello. Also the penne vodka & the chicken parm... dessert - they have awesome tartufo and the "titanic" is great. We were not particularly impressed with the strawberry shortcake, FYI, but I think that's honestly the only thing I've ever had there that I was less than in love with. :)
Man....now I want tartufo! So not wedding dress friendly!
OMG we had the tartufo because FI has never had it! I LOVE Penne ala vodka! Its going to be hard to pick for the limited menu! I get 2 apps, 3 pastas, 2 entrees and it comes with pastries and coffee! and it's really reasonable!
I've done tons of non-wedding events there and it's no surprise that our rehearsal dinner will be here! One of our groomsmen is the manager here and our best man is a waiter here. The food is OFF THE CHARTS, anything you order will be amazing.

Hi Ladies,
We're planning on having our wedding luncheon at Carmines on the Upper West Side next September. Has anyone else had any functions there. We ate there a couple of weeks ago and loved it! We're having about 40ppl so we're using their private function space.
