(Closed) Carribean Brides! How Long Before You Could Start Name Changing Process?

@mrs_pudding_pop:  We got married in Mexico & they said the same thing. when we signed our certificate though they had duplicates & gave us one of the duplicate originals so I didn’t have to wait at all. Where are you doing your ceremony? Maybe they will also surprise you with an original the day of!

@mrs_pudding_pop:  I had a Caribbean wedding but got married in my home country first (Canada) I had to wait almost 3 months to get the marriage license here to start the name changing process. I havn’t even changed my name yet because I have been so busy!!

@mrs_pudding_pop:  that should be fun! As soon as he actually proposes I want to start planning a Bahamas wedding. I was thinking Freeport.

@mrs_pudding_pop:  We are getting married in Aruba and we will receive our translated marriage certificate only 2 weeks after the wedding 🙂

Did they explain to you why it would take 8-10 weeks?
