darrvao777:  That’s so sweet! I love it when the person who proposes is actually the one who picks the ring!

They both seem very similar to me, and they seem to be exactly what she wants. I’d say the Cartier is more classic and the Tiffany’s is slightly “trendier”.

Quick question: Would you have a yellow diamond on both? Or is it only the soleste? I’m slightly partial to white diamonds because they are more timeless and go with everything. But that may be just me. On the other hand, a yellow diamond might be that extra special touch that makes it stand out from the rest.

As to the basket, I noticed there’s a slight difference if you look at them from the side.

The Cartier is thinner at the base, which would allow the wedding band to “stack” right next to the e-ring. I personally think that’s more comfortable for everyday use. Some other bees might disagree and they might actually prefer it when the basket separates the band from the ring.

So my pick would be the Cartier.

So anyway, that’s just my very personal opinion. Best of luck with the proposal!

I’m not a fan of yellow diamonds personally, so I’d go with the Cartier.

I think the yellow diamond would be stunning, and if she has mentioned loving yellow diamonds I would definitely go with that one. However, if she has never mentioned wanting a yellow diamond, even if she loves yellow, etc., I think you should stick with the Cartier ring with the white diamond.

The Cartier is more a classic look in my opinion. My vote is for that one. Best of luck!

Yellow diamonds are breathe taking. Also they stand out and are rarer. I think that the Tiffany soleste with a yellow diamond would be beautiful.

But if she has never mentioned wanting or liking a colored stone. Or does not want something that would capture too much attention than maybe a yellow diamond would be risky.

By the way I am slightly bias since I own a yellow diamond.

Definitely Cartier in terms of beauty and craftsmanship.

darrvao777:  You’re very welcome.

I’m with sjhanddab2014. If she has never mentioned yellow diamonds, that might be tricky. Especially because this is something she’ll wear for the rest of her life. But if you know that yellow has ALWAYS been her favorite color, that’s a different story.

darrvao777:  Between these two, I like the Tiffany one. There’s something about their craftsmanship… Though Cartier is right up on that level too. Both are STUNNING and I’m sure she will be over the moon with either!

To play devils advocate, if you are thinking about yellow diamonds, have you seen diamonds by Lauren? They specialize in fancy coloured diamonds and have some pretty amazing pieces. I’m a jewellery fiend and always lurking over there! They are a well regarded online source. You can even buy just a loose stone if that is your preference. If you are only looking at Tiffany and Cartier, then disregard this website with my apologies.
