Both dresses are beautiful! Have you picked your venue yet? I think the amount of layers would be more of an issue if you were getting married outside in July/August (or whatever month is hottest in the venue area).
ooo i tried that one on! I LOVED the bodice!! I didn't see it bustled but they can take a height measurement so it's the prefect height for you, just make sure you take your shoes. You can also talk to your consultant about changing the neckline or changing the bodice of your dress for Casablacas and kind of "create' your own version of the dress.
Thanks for answering :)
Yes, we picked our venues. We are getting married in June 2012 (long way away, I know!) and it's pretty decent weather at that time... usually not too hot or too cold, but both our wedding & reception are going to be inside air conditioned places.
I loved the bodice too - it's my favorite part :) I'm not worried about the length, but it does have a decent size train. The woman that was helping me tried to show me what it'd be liked bustled in the back, but I didn't get a great view of it so I was just curious to see if anyone knows what it's like.
I actually did think about switching up the neckline to more of a sweetheart neckline - it seemed to be the best style for my body. I'm sure that wouldn't be too hard of a fix. I wonder if maybe they could take a layer or two of the netting under the dress out...
Anyway, thanks again! :)
I just got married on October 8th and wore that dress, I am going to put it up for sale on wedding bee actually. I looooovvvvveeeeddd the dress!! I got so many compliments on the dress, everyone said I looked like a real princess. I didn't wear anything extra underneath except some thin capri pants (a little thicker than tights) underneath and I was fine. The pants will absorb any the sweat and will keep you comfortable (all the dresses I tried on made me hot). I too changed the neckline to more of a sweatheart and had it bustled. I also had sleeves added, since I am self conscious about my arms. The dress was really easy to move around in, it didn't get in my way at all. I think I did get stepped on a couple times, but not during my first dance or the father daughter dance, more when I was stooping down or sitting etc. I'll try to attach the pictures, I'm new to this website. I've looked but never posted and I had to let you know how much I loved this dress. I did end up having to make my own veil since my dress was the light ivory color and I wanted a full fingertip veil, which I couldn't even find in white. It came out beautiful!!! Let me know if you need more info or pics. I'm selling the dress and veil for $600 if you want to save $$. It's a size 12 and I didn't have any alterations except the bustle, sleeves and adding more of a sweetheart neckline, it wasn't taken in or out :)
Wow, thank you so much CruiseWedding2010! The dress looks fabulous. And it looks great with the sweetheart neckline! Woo hoo :)
I seriously had a dream a few weeks ago about my wedding... it was my whole wedding day, start to finish! My man was at the alter (thank goodness it was him... and thank goodness he didn't run!), it was at our church and reception hall... and I was wearing this dress. I think it's meant to be :) At least that's what I keep telling myself!

I tried on this dress today and absolutely fell in love! I was worried at first when I saw it hanging up because there was a LOT of material & I don't want a big poofy dress. I put it on and it was, in fact, a lot of material... but it wasn't as poofy as it looked hanging up. It was pretty light but I only had it on for a short time.
If I do get this dress, I would NOT wear any extra slips/petticoat underneath because it's already pretty big. Has anyone had this as their dress and have pictures of themselves that they'd like to share? Was all of the material a lot to drag around when you wanted to dance and be close with your husband? I just don't want a huge dress separating us when we want to be close. I also don't want my dad to step on it as we're walking down the aisle and rip it, haha :) Am I over exaggerating? Also, does it still look pretty when it's bustled? I just want opinions on it!
I am torn between this one and Allure Bridal's 8769. There are things I love about both... I wish I could combine them!
THANKS so much for everyone's help! I have a long way to go until my wedding, so I hope I can get some good opinions in the meantime :) Happy Planning Nearlyweds, and congrats Newlyweds!
Here is a picture of the Casa Blanca dress on a model. Not TOO poofy, right?
