Does anyone have pics of the Casablanca 1995?? I can't seem to find any pics of real brides in this gown, and I would love to see what it looks like on someone other than a posed model!!! :-) Thank you co much in advance!!
I tried the beautiful Casablanca 1995 on today!! In case there are any other brides out there that wanted to see what it looks like on a normal bride, and not a model! :-)
sorry the front ones aren't to great…my photographers weren't doing a great job haha…im a size 14 and i was worried with the style dress…but i love love love it
@klar8808: It's a bit complicated...but no I didn't go with it...although I would have been VERY happy in this dress. :-) I am a two dress bride...I made a purchse VERY early in the game, over a year ago, and regretted it ever since. The Casablanca was one of the many beautiful dresses I considered replacing the original with. But it didn't feel 100% right, so I kept following my heart, despite all of the incredible dresses I tried in the process. About two weeks ago, 6 months exactly until my wedding, my mom, sister and I went into a boutique, and the consultant pulled a dress that I had NEVER laid eyes on before (and trust me, I thought I had seen them ALL...) As soon as I put it on, I knew it was the one. My heart was racing, and I eventually cried in the dress!! I know...so dramatic! But it was worth the wait and all the extra drama of looking for a new dress!
However...I didn't purchase it that day because it was a huge financial committment and I needed time to think about it. After I got home, I couldn't stop thinking about the dress. I made an appt that following Tuesday to put down a deposit and get measured. But I never ended up going to that appointment. That same night I found the dress of my dreams, my fiance and I ironically and sadly decided to call off the wedding. Our paths and ideas of the future were very different, and we were heading in very different directions with our lives. Without knowing what else to do, we put all wedding plans on hold, including my dream dress.
I don't know if we will work things out to go ahead and get married or not. Only time will tell. It's been a really hard and long process, but I feel so much stronger from it. Not at first. But now, with time and clarity, I have seen that this would have happened no matter what, and I am so grateful it didn't happen minutes before walking down the aisle.
Sorry to be a debbie downer! :-/ It's just a loaded question when you asked what dress I ended up with.
In better news, you look gorgeous and will do the Casablanca 1995 very proud!! :-)
Hey, I know no one's posted on this thread for a while, but just wanted to let other Casablanca 1995 brides know that they should wear a mermaid crinoline- if you want it poofier of course. I personally LOVED what the crinoline did for the dress. And I hadn't discovered that til like the 4th or 5th time trying it on.
So, just wanted to let you know in case you hadn't thought of it. It also cured my problem for the dress being too long, it tooka bout an inch off the length.
This one is with the mermaid crinoline:
This one is without:

@k10byrd- it looks beautiful on you! i just bought this dress today!! i'm very excited & thanks for the tip on the mermaid crinoline!!
This is my future daughter in-law in the Casablanca 1995 in April 2011. She purchased this dress for her October 14, 2011 wedding. (this is the store sample)
We are in the final fitting stage with an issue of how it is bustled. The seamstress actually put 7 hooks & eyes on the outside of the dress and you lift up the eye and hook it. HIDIOUS! (Photo #2 below this photo)

You can see the hooks!!!! We are currently trying to get the seamstress to create a more traditional French bustle. (photo #3 below this photo)

A couple of tips:
We did this and the bridal shop we're dealing with is not finishing this dress until Tuesday, which is 3 days before the wedding! (Or at least what they think the wedding to be). I'm SO glad we did this as it eliminated the stress level we would have been experiencing now.
PS - the dress is going to be amazing!
I am in love with this dress. I plan on purchasing this dress no later than Monday. I've been a bit paranoid. I tried it on at a couple different shops - all authorized resellers of Casablanca. I really loved how I felt after trying it on a few times. I visited the first store I tried the dress on, since they seemed to offer a good price. But when I tried it on, the material did not feel the same, felt course and it seemed "flat". So I passed, thinking I just made the wrong dress choice. But I tried the dress again at another store and it was 100 times better... it felt full and luxurious. Thoughts ran through my mind... maybe the first shope was selling a fabricated dress..but they are an authorized reseller so why would they do that? My only conclusion about store #1 was maybe they altered it so many times that it lost it's luster (they rent dresses). But at this point, I think wherever I find my dress I will ask them for proof that they truly ordered it at the Casablanca factory. One shop in LA was trying to sell it for $900 (they said they were going to include the hem to hollow - but as I learned later this is actually a service that Casablanca provides). Another was trying to charge me $1,000 plus alterations ($200). I found a store in Orange County selling it for $750 and they were honest about the hem to hallow service. I'm gonna try to deal with a store in LA where I can get my groomsmen tuxes and bridal gowns, hoepfully they will work with us in terms of pricing but if not, I will make my way to the OC shop :) Anyway, I'm excited about purchasing my dress so I can have motivation to lose weight for the big day.
@rosieposy: Hi! I was wondering what shop in OC was selling this dress for $750? I just purchased this dress for $1125 :( I am hoping to see if I can get some of my money back....thanks so much!!
After buying the Higuera from Pronovias I decided that i needed a different neckline. I bought at a local store the Casablanca 1995 but with the top of the Casablanca 1914 . So in other words, i have the top of one dress (1914) but the bottom of the other (1995). Casablanca is costumizing the dress for me. I also added the bustier bodice (which basically just shapes your waist) and substituted the zipper for a lace up. I know... lots of changes. My dress will be in in mid January... and I just can't wait!!! I am a little nervous about this decision, and I just can't wait to see my customized gown. I decided to go with the Casablanca 1914 top because I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the heart shape that the little embelishments make in the torso, and also the sweetheart neckline (look at the FIRST picture). Please leave your feedback... to calm my nerves down! ThANK YOU!
Will SELL !!! Custom made CASABLANCA WEDDING GOWN will be on sale: Top of Casablanca 1914, with bottom/skirt of CASABLANCA 1995. I paid close to 1800$ for my dress with all the changes AND custom work. Any future CASABLANCA brides wanting to buy my dress please let me know... I am willing to sell it for $1000 after my 10th Wedding Anniversary May 25th, 2012.
Hi Shelley, I do not think I am going to do anything with my dress... I will just have them put a wrist band to somehow hold it... Your daughter in law looks amazing... but i think the dress needs to be more fitted in her "butt" area. That is just my personal opinion.
OMG IT fits you like a glove... was this your actual dress? Have you married yet? I'd love to see the pics if so, please read my post and reply if you can... THANKS!
I can't get over how gorgeous this dress looks on so many different brides! I was a Casablanca bride too, and I just love the classic style and great lines of their gowns.
@Higuerabride: love it! What color is the Casablanca 1995? What type of alterations were made to the dress?
@Christie1121:Casablanca is ccustomizing my dress. It will get to the store in mid January, and my 10th wedding anniversary is in May. I decided to go with the champagne color, since this is my 10th wedding anniversary. It's absolutely beautiful!
Don't know if you're still looking for "real bride" photos of the Casablanca 1995, but here's mine! It's ivory with champagne lace overlay, size 6!!

@Higuerabride: Well it looks beautiful and the combo of both dresses is going to be AMAZING!!! What color is the 1995?? Ivory and champagne?
@Christie1121: I got it in champagne with ivory lace. Since it's my 10th wedding anniversary it made more sense to get a different color. The dress it ended up being quite pricey, with all the all the alterations made I love this dress... And I can't wait to wear it. I am absolutely excited... I LOVE your shoes, your hair and veil... everything! By the way I am also a military spouse. My husban comes back from Afgh. at the end of this month after a year deployment. LOVE your pink bouquet too. I am going with different shades of pinks, ivory and apple green.
I just bough the Casablanca 1995!! I love it and can't wait to wear it in May!! :)
Don't mind the picture...it was after a long day at work!

I love casablanca 1995! I just bought it in champagne/ivory for my Sept 2012 wedding. When I ordered it I had them extend the train by one foot. I didn't really think about having to bustle it. I was wondering if anyone has any pictures or ideas on what they did or are going to do?
@britani222: I have the seamstress working on mine right now. Once I get pictures of the bustle I will upload them. It seems to be a little tricky to bustle for some reason...my seamstress said that she was going to have play around with it to see what she liked best.
@Higuerabride: Hi! I was just wondering....I know that you ordered the dress in champagne/ivory, but what color is the casablanca 1995 dress in the pictures that you posted? Is that the Ivory/ivory or the champagne/ivory? Thanks so much!!!! Just trying to figure out what color my dress is :)
I was set on an allure mermaid dress... When i put this dress on I fell in LOVE =) it makes me look skinny! and no wedding dress has done that! The only problem is that I couldnt walk in it =( so i have to order TWO sizes bigger! and then get the top altered to fit me! I ordered it with a more drastic sweetheart and covered buttons down the back =) I cannot wait for june to come so I can TRY IT BACK ON =) PLEASE excuse my face! lol I
Bees, here is my custom made gown by casablanca. They combined the 1995 with the 1914. Fabric of the 1914 with shape of 1995. Isn't it just gorgeous!? I couldn't have dreamed of a prettier dress. Im so excited! Remember I'll be selling it right after the wedding.
And another pic---this is my dress, just picked it up..but it's too loose in a few places, so I have to get it taken in. I like a tighter fit!
Why is wedding dress shopping so hard?!?! I have a constant rant about the fact that you're spending hundreds if not thousands of dollars on something you can't even try on in the proper size and color. ingenious. I'm glad I found this site as the other thing that drives me bonkers is that each designer has 1-2 views of their dress. (seriously? I can see 8 views of a $20 dress at gap). Soooo I'm currently in debate about the Casablanca 1995. I didn't go back to it until I was flipping through my shopping photos. I'm not sure I can make the boobs fit right :-/ I also have no idea if I tried on Ivory/Ivory or Ivory/champagne, I think it was the former, but I'd like to see the latter in person.
@merp2012: My dress in the pic above yours is the Champagne overlay with ivory dress...it's harder to see in the pictures, but in person you can definately see the champagne tone on the top half of the dress. When you have it on it's harder to see but you know it's there.
This is the champage overlay and you can kind of see it with this picture, I think:
@limeice24: Thanks for sharing, it's amazing how subtle it is!! I'm still afraid to take a leap of faith on it. I checked the photo I snapped of the tag and it says IIS, so I think that's Ivory/Ivory Satin for my sample pic. The color blends very well with your skin.
@merp2012: The champagne coloring is one of the things that really attracted me to this dress. It gives such a nice warmth that I haven't seen in any other dress. I think it would work great with your skin tone. Hopefully you can find a place that has it so you can see it in person!
@kitkat863: Just wondering about those pics of your bustle!? =)
