Does anyone have a picture of Casablanca 2041 in white? I bought it in Ivory because the shop only had it in ivory and the consultant said the white was a brighter white than anything in the store. So, I didn’t want to take the gamble of ordering a color I had never seen.
I’m starting to freak out that I made the wrong choice. I have brown hair and a cool skin tone and now I think I should have bought a white dress instead.
I ordered back in November and my dress is supposed to come in May, I think it’s too late to change my mind now.

I think ivory is usually more flattering on most skin tones! Relax! you will be stunning!

In general I think ivory is flattering on most skin tones. If the dress you tried on was ivory, how did it look at the time you tried it on?

@MlleFabuleux: Thanks for the link. I am feeling better now. I got nervous because today I went to the boutique with my bridesmaids to look for bridesmaid dresses and I tried my gown on for them since they hadn’t seen it yet. We were in a different part of the store and the lighting made the dress look a lot more yellowy than when I first tried it on and I stated to panic a bit. My wedding is outside, so I’m hoping it will look closer to white in natural light.

Casablanca’s ivory is very very white, don’t worry about it!

Don’t worry – ivory is like off-white usually, and is generally chosen over white for most brides as I understand it. Pure white is very bright and can leave many looking washed out.

Pure white is often very bright – you’re probably better off with a slightly off-white colour. I’m sure it looks marvellous on 🙂

Most brides do go with ivory b/c some whites in the “bridal world” look too stark and almost glow in the dark white.

I’ve also heard that pure white is more difficult to photograph in terms of being able to capture all the details in the picture AND all the details of the dress.

I tend to think that olive-toned brides look better in white than in ivory, but in the end I don’t think it is going to really matter. When I ordered my bridesmaids dresses the other day I saw a beautiful olive-toned woman purchase an ivory gown. She looked lovely in it, but FI and I both thought she would have looked better in white.
I bought a white dress sight unseen and thought ivory looked dreadful on me. My FI agreed. We both love the white dress I purchased.
Your mileage will truly vary, and on your wedding day no one will know or much care except for you.
