I had ordered the Casablanca 2096 last December. It just arrived and I was very excited….until I tried it on. Based on my measurements, my consultant ordered me a size 2, which didn’t seem out of the norm since that is my regular size.
The dress has a beaded/lace drop waist, and when I tried it on, it seemed like we were pulling the material down as far as it could go, but then there was this huge bubble of extra fabric in my stomach area that couldn’t be pulled down (but it wasn’t super tight at my hips). And then when we tried to zip it, it barely zipped more than an inch – which might have been a result of the extra fabric.
Has anyone had a similar experience, or happen to know how their sizes run? I am wondering if perhaps I am too short for the regular drop-waist, which is why there is all of that extra material. I am 5’3 though so I’m not that short. And I haven’t gained any weight since they measured me.
The boutique I ordered it from is out of town, so I am meeting with a local seamstress on Monday where she can hopefully explain. If it was the wrong size ordered, that doesn’t seem right since my measurements match up, and it would seem weird if the company made it incorrect as well.
Any insight or advice is appreciated. Thank so much!
