I would try to find the manufacturer size chart, if you can, so you can check the actual measurements. I know I had a Casablanca dress and I ordered it 2 sizes larger than my street size and it turned out to be about a size and a half too big! I'd try to check to see the measurement chart to compare before you order. Or go to a store and try on some Casablanca samples to see how they fit.
Look at their size chart and if you're on the line you may want to err on the side of caution. You'll have to get alterations most likely anyways so it's probably easier to take in rather than let out (but I don't know that much about sewing). I'm about a 2-4 street size and got a Casablanca sample that was size 8, so I didn't get measurements for dress ordering, I just bought what they had. It was big but I didn't try on a size 6 to know if that would have been just right. But the seamstress had no problem taking it to my size then.
I bought a size 6 casablanca (1831) and it fit without having to have any alterations done! (Actually, in hindsight the top could have been taken in a little bit.) I'm usually a size 4-6 in street clothes. It's so hard to say but their sizing chart should give you an idea. I had a bridal shop want me to get an Allure in a size 8 at the smallest, preferably a 10 so don't just rely on their recommendation!

I am trying to order a dress online. I know I want a Casablanca dress and I also know they run small. Do they run just as small as other brands or even smaller? For example, I know I need an 8 in Mori Lee dresses (I normally wear a 4 or 6)
Would I need an 8 in casablanca or a 10?
Thanks, Ashley
