So, i've come across a few Casablanca dresses that i love & i really want to hear yalls experiences...if you don't mind me asking :)
-How much was your dress?
-Which dress did you get/do you want?
-How long did it take for your dress to arrive once you ordered it?
-Plus size girls, were you able to try on the sample? or could you only hold it up to your body? ( i dont really know what size i am, so if you feel comfortable, please share your size & experience (: )
Thanks ladies!!
I have a casablanca dress, its actually a casablanca couture!! I am in love with my dress!
tell me what you think?
your dress is beautiful!!!!!!!!! i love the sweetheart neckline & the detail around the waist. info please?
I got Casablanca 1881 and I love it! My experience has been pretty good so far. I'm supposed to get my dress in by mid April. They custom cut it to fit your measurments and will customize just about anything. My dress was $740, but I've seen the same dress for up to double that in other areas of the country.
I ordered 1804, and it was around $800. But I customized the neckline to a sweetheart, so that was a little extra. I ordered it in early October and they said it should be here in February (I'm so excited!!) As soonerpsych said, they'll customize anything, including length, so I should only need minor alterations, so they shouldn't add much to the price!
I'm getting 1827, which I got for $650. I ordered it at the end of October and it should be here mid-February!
Mine was a Casablance 1831 and I loved it! It was around $700 (can't remember exactly anymore). I am a street size 12, plus I am only 5'1", and it was very flattering on me. They did the hollow to hem measurements when I ordered and other than that I only had to have the top taken in a bit.
A friend of mine, who is plus sized, also bought this dress and she looked stunning on her wedding day.
I love mine!!! I cant until March to see my baby again! Casablanca's are labeled by numbers so they dont have a name, i named mine the 'Casablanca Tammy' lol. I paid $1000 and was worth every penny! It has lace, pearls, swarvoski crystals going down the train and in the bust area, i absolutely love it, its the trumpet style and its in white.
I got the Casablanca 1932 (the non-coture version of yours, @stephromo!!!). I ordered it in early October and it should be here this month!!!! They were able to make it into a sweetheart neckline and v down the back a little for me. I paid just over $1000 for mine (that included the extra for the alterations). They do custom order it to your exact size. I love love love mine and can't wait to see her in person!

Mine is a Casa 1920; cost about $900. It took about 4 months to come in. I see her for the first time and get to get in her tomorrow night!!
thanks for all the help! i really appreciate it! for you plus size girls, can you tell me how it was when you tried dresses on...im a little nervous that i wont be able to actually try the dresses on. im not sure what my dress size is & i know that samples are usually size 8.
@tammy - your dress is GORGEOUS! i dont think i could pull off the trumpet, but it is BEAUTIFULLLL.
@soonerpsych - i love that dress too! congrats on getting it...youre going to look amazing :)
Hello! I too am a Casablanca Bride :) Casablanca 1901 in Ivory.
My dress, with hollow to hem measurement, was $1200. The actual dress was $899, but with the custom fit, tax, etc. it came out higher.
I ordered July 11, was told it would be in early February, and it came in November 6th.
I was very close to buying this dress --

It was tagged at $899, but the salon was offering it for $799.
Hi everybody ---
What's the difference between Casablanca Bridal and Casablanca Couture? My bff got married in Casablanca 1920 but she can't remember if it was a Couture or not. She's a little spacey!!!!!
Also -- there were a bunch of posts about Casablanca dresses -- or maybe even *all* dresses made n Asia -- something about factories closing in January or February and so they're late. We're thinking about 10-10-2010 .... so trying to figure out timing. Not easy cuz my fiance is military and we never know where he's going to be!!!!
Weddingbee rocks! TIA for yr help. Sam (Samantha)
@SamanthaDarling: 1920 is my dress!! See post above. It's not Couture. It's just Casablanca. My dress took 4 months to come in.
Oh @Jennybirdy --- those tiered ruffles are SOOOOO amazing. Heather (bff) looked so totally like a princess. I think it would be maybe a little cheesy if I also got a 1920 but I can still get Casablanca. That 4 months rocks. ZOMG, I was so worried about delays because Sam never knows what his orders will be. (Yes, Sam is marrying Sam!!!!)
You are awesome to answer so fast.

I got 1971, definetly thought i would have been a early century girl.
-Mine was under a $1,000
-My order was placed Jan will come May
-The sample i tried on was a 10, way surprising and nice that it wasn't a 2!
Ms. Brew - that dress is gorgeous!!!! its good to hear that you could try the dress on :)
Mine is Casablanca 1957 and I love it! I couldn't get it custom sized for me from them directly because I didn't have enough time. My wedding is June 4th so it would have been cutting it to close. The length is good I just have to have it taken in a little on the sides so its not oo bad. After trying it on I went online and found it for $250 cheaper so I ordered it online.
I ordered Casablanca 1900 in early September and it's supposed to come in this month or next. I paid $800 including shipping and tax. Hopefully it'll fit fine and not be too long since I'm only 5'1".
I'm loooovin' this thread! I went dress shopping for the very first time yesterday (eee!) and fell in love with Casablanca 1900. Since I was looking for a mermaid-style dress with straps, it was definitely one of those "oh, let me just try it on for the heck of it" deals. I didn't purchase it yet, but I can't stop thinking about it. When I looked in the mirror, I had to swallow back tears. I really felt like a bride!
Please keep posting pictures, ladies! I love them!
I combined two dresses, the body of 1881 and the neckline 1831 (no beading), the 2 blended very well and I ended up with a beautiful custom gown. I think it was about $800, plus about $200 in alterations.
I have a really large chest and I think this style/neckline helped. I'm usually a street size 16 and ended up with a 20 or something, but like many people mentioned above they took my measurements and it was custom made. It was still too big when it came it, but alterations took care of that.
As far as trying gowns on, it is harder to get a true sense of what the gowns look like, (and it can be very frustrating) but just try on a bunch of styles and you will get a pretty good feeling of what shape, neckline, etc looks best on you.
Good luck!
I bought the Cassablanca 1900! I purchased it the end of November and it is suppose to be here around March 19! I am between a size 10 and 12 and the sample was a 12 and fit if i didn't breath so we orderd a 14! We also ordered an extra yard of the fabric around the bust to make capsleeves for the ceremony! I feel in love with it the moment I tried it on! Here is a picture of the dress! The picture I have of me wearing it for some reason I can not pull it up!
@Tammy: I absolutely LOOOOVE that dress.
I ended up with a Casablanca 1892. I loved it and here it is!

you ladies have been amazing!! so sorry ive been a little slow on replies!
@BrianneG - i hear ya when it comes to being short. i'm only 5 ft tall so i know the dress will probably be a mile longer than i need it to be before alterations.
& for the girls who got 1900, it is gorgeous!!
@ehunter9 - your dress is amazing! i bet you feel like a princess! whats the style number?
@august15bride - i love the bodice of your dress. the detailing is amazing. & you and your hubby are so adorable together :)
@august15- omgosh we have the same taste because I tried yours on before mine and was kind of torn between the two! It looks amazing on you!
My casablanca dress was labeled couture for some odd reason, but I love it!! Funny thing is they didnt have my size either, I am a size 0 in real life and they only had 12's and 14's in the store cause they did want plus size women to feel uncomfortable, which is pretty neat, I paid 1200 for mine (including alteration, which I will need a lot of, I'am 5 foot) but I love it!! couldnt ask for a better dress!!
I'm a Casablanca bride also and I love my dress! I order 1930 but had the neckline altered from a halter into a sweetheart and also had the back changed into a corset. It was a little expensive after the chages but I think it will be totally worth it.
I just called to check on my dress. They said 4 to 5 months and it's exactly 4.5 months today. Apparently it won't be in until February 26 now. My wedding isn't until June 5, so that isn't an issue but the wait is driving me crazy.
Lauren 52210, we have the same dress! First person I have seen with my dress and I am altering the top to a sweetheart as well!
I wore 1906. It was 1000 and was ordered a custom length. I ordered it in early April and it came in July. It was about 4 months. I wore a 10. I'm a street 8/10. My salon had Casablancas in several sizes I remember trying on one that was a 16.
Here's mine!!! I got it two weeks ago, and it's suppose dto come in in May. The 1900. The 1971 (last pic) was also a top contender. Loved them both...but in the end, the 1900 was classic, romantic, and soooo pretty!
Here's mine! I bought it off the rack as a sample (well, my mom bought it) and I'm having the neckline modified to a slight sweetheart. The train is my favorite part! It's Casablanca 1795 and I think it cost about $700...
This is mine. At the store it was $1,200 but I found an online store that sold it for only $746. The store I found my dress in said it would take 6 months to come in but the place I bought from only takes 3 months. Also, this site is called Plussizebridal.com. But they carry anything from a 2 - 32. They just special in plus sizes. And with sizes 14 and up, you can return the dress if it doesnt fit and then order another size which is usually unheard of. Hope this helps, good luck!
I bought the 1930 in ivory. I changed the halter into straps and with that change, I paid about $1000. I orderd my dress at the end of November, I think and I was told it will be here around April. The first store that I tried on a sample had this dress in a 14, but the store I ordered from has a size 10 sample.
