OH wow. I haven’t heard anything but thanks for the heads up! I ordered my dress in early January and it is supposed to come in sometime around April 24th. My wedding is in August so hopefully it doesn’t get pushed back too far!

I just posted about this on the dress board

The store owner where I bought my dress said that she had to call casablanca because another brides dress was late and casablanca said they are running 3 weeks behind. The store owner also told me that they making dresses by wedding date and not order date! She said she would callas often as she had to and make sure that the dresses come on time.

I am late ordering my dress since my wedding is August 15 so we bumped my date up 2 weeks to make sure my dress arrives on time.

Thanks for the information! I am planning on ordering a Casablanca dress, so I will be sure to tell them my wedding date is much sooner than it is. I also read about dress companies making dresses in order of wedding dates in a planning book – apparently it’s a common practice. If the dresses are coming from China, many of the factories shut down over there for most of February due to the Chinese New Year holiday. That could be one reason for the delays. I hope that your dress comes in soon, kgsoontobekp!

Ah – this scares me a bit!  I ordered my dress is October (2nd weekend) and haven’t heard anything from the place I’ve ordered it from.  I think I’ll call to make sure everything is ok – thank you for the heads up!

I ordered mine last June and it was here around mid-November…… so I didn’t have any problems there.

Good Luck!

I ordered mine in late September and it arrived (as scheduled) in early February.

I hope your dresses arrive soon, ladies!

Dont know if this is why, but for dresses that are made in Asian factories, they dont do any dress-making at all the entire month of January (or December, I cant remember) to celebrate their new year.  So if you ordered last year, it takes an extra month or so to come simply because they arent doing any production for one whole month.

I ordered my dress in June and it arrived in late october (Style 1906). Sorry to hear that they’re having production issues now. Another bride I know getting married in August was told that her bridesmaid dresses (made by a different company, but still manufactured in Asia) would not arrive by the promised Feb. date because the plant in China had been shut down and all of the supplies had been moved to Canada. They’re now telling her to wait until at least May. I haven’t heard this is the case with Casablanca, but possibly there are several dress production issues in China right now?

Yes we were told that most of the dress shops take the month of January off and so when ordering they plan on that month not "counting"

I just found out that my dress arrived last week – I ordered it in October.  I can stop stressing now!  Good luck, though!  I hope it gets here on time and is perfect!
