We are having a cash bar. It is the norm around here but I wanted to put in on our website just to make sure everyone knows!
Is there a proper way of saying it. I dont really wanna be like We’re having a cash bar bring your wallet!

Something along the lines of: Drinks may be purchased during reception. Put it under the reception area of your website 🙂

Cocktails available for purchase during the reception

I wouldn’t put it on the invitation itself, but I would make sure it’s on the website and spread the word by word of mouth. Especially if the bar will only accept cash, rather than cards. The last think you want is for guests to leave in search of an atm 😉

I agree with Cocktails available for purchase during reception. Or you could get further into it and say “Dinner and Dancing immediately following ceremony with cocktails for purchase”. So you are tying the fact that it’s a Cash Bar into the logistics of the reception being right after the ceremony.

I’d spin it so it prefaces it with what you ARE providing.
“Please join us for (whatever type of reception your having hors d’oeuvers, dinner etc). Tea, soda and coffee will be provided, cocktails available for purchase.”

@camrie:I like that Idea
It wont be on the invite- just on the website. Most people know already but just incase the ones who we dont see a lot (FH’s side and my dads side) I want to make sure they know. I am trying to spread it by word of mouth. It is the norm around here so im guessing most people will assume anyway but just to make sure!

Our wedding website says the following:
- Iced tea
- Soft drinks
A cash bar will be available for those who prefer something a bit stronger.
