Weddingbee boards

Is everyone getting married in a castle venue in North America? Unfortunately some of the castle venues on this side of the world are pretty tacky looking (boxy, unattractive, built for the sole purpose of making a quick buck), but there are some very nice castles out there too.

I have absolutely fell in love with Hatley Castle in Victoria, BC. I dare you to look at these pictures and NOT fall in love with it. Unfortunately it's pretty expensive, but I hope that I would be able to afford a wedding there, because it would be my absolute fairy tale dream.

Boldt Castle in 1000 islands has a very (tragically) romantic story and also very beautiful, but unfortunately we can't have a reception in there, nor many indoor pictures.

And then Castle in the Clouds or Lucknow Castle in NH is pretty small, but it has an ABSOLU-FREAKING-TELY gorgeous view! (and another view pic)  The pros are that it's gorgeous, got a gorgeous view, and just a beautiful venue. The cons is that it seems to be in the middle of nowhere, so I am not sure what is there for my guests and I to do in the area.

So what other nontacky castles are there in North America that I can have an intimate wedding at? I like the "castle" look rather than the "mansion/palace" look, for example, rocky walls, turrets, gardens, etc. And since we're not religious, we would rather have the ceremony outside in the castle gardens, at a view point, or facing the castle, probably not at a religious-looking chapel inside.

So, any other suggestions come to mind?
