Fiance and I were originally going to marry at City Hall in the summer and while I don’t want to get all glamourous and dressed up, I want to look nice, so I was going to wear a pretty white summer dress. However, the date has been pushed up to February in the winter.
I want to be comfortable and warm but I would still like to look nice without being overdone. Unfortunately, now I’m at a loss. I need ideas on balancing the event and the elements.

How about a pretty cream colored sweater dress??

@harleyq: If you are getting married at City Hall and still want to look fab I would wear a cute sweater dress, tights and sexy boots. The length and fit of your dress is whatever makes you comfortable for your body type. I am tall with a few curves so I would go with a fitted dress that was mid thigh length with tights and booties.

I agree with pp’s. A beautiful white or ivory sweater dress, do your hair all pretty & some red lips would be gorgeous! 🙂

I think you can still wear white or winter white and look and feel like a bride.
We all still wear dresses in the winter. We just add a sweater, coat, boots etc.
A simple winter white dress will look great on your wedding day and can be worn for years after.

Love that picture of Reese’s dress and I can’t believe I never thought of a sweater dress! I’ve seen them in stores but i always dismissed them.
Now I’m thinking a dress similar to this one with a brooch/belt, boots, and maybe some thin suede gloves:
