Right now I’m playing my boy’s favorite game… Fetch! Yah, he’s a cat.
I crumple up paper balls (any paper, he will even dig receipts out of the paper garbage and bring them to me to make a ball out of!). He can play this for a really long time, and he will come up and drop it right into my hand!
What silly and crazy games do your kitties like?

@Pinkmoon: Awww I had a kitty that played fetch with me once. Is yours a Maine Coon? I know they are known for playing fetch.
My cat likes to play tag! He will chase me, pounce me, and then run expecting me to chase him back. We can do this all night and it’s great fun!

He is Siamese – and still a baby, so tons of energy! He will be 1 in September. I see at the bottom of this post another one that mentions tabbies loving fetch also. There is always some awesome quirk that each cat has!

And the obligatory kitty picture… He is a mischievous little man.

Oh yes! My son had a Mancun that he taught to play fetch with fast food wrappers. We inherited him. That was my favorite cat I ever had. I left him in his home when I left my ex. It was better for the cat. I am now teary thinking about him.

Yes, our girls will play fetch sometimes! But it’s not quite like with dogs, it’s more on their own timetable. The older cat will bring a mouse toy or whatever up on the bed, one of us throws it, and then a while later she brings it back. The kitten will go back and forth fetching with a jingly toy, but she gets distracted or tired kind if fast. The kitten is definitely part Maine Coon, the other cat probably isn’t, she’s pretty small!

Our 3 cats LOVE to play fetch! Crumpled receipts are their favourite! They’ve also decided that FI’s Nerf disc are fun pucks on our polished hardwood floors! The moment we spool up the gun, they all come running… the only other time they run that fast is when they hear me open the treat bags! It’s quite hilarious!
They also seem to like the plastic rings from milk bottles! One of them would carry it in her mouth to us if she wants to play!

my cat used to love fetch. she would crouch along the wall and do these crazy gymnastic spin moves to catch the paper in mid air. it was so fun!

My cat has one of those toys that looks like a plastic doughnut with a ping pong ball inside. We sit across from each other on the floor and bat the ball back and forth.

Our boy fetches hair ties!! He also LOVES to drop them in water…his bowl, the toilet, you name it. I think he sucks the water out of them!

Mine too plays fetch but only on her terms and when she’s good and ready. She REALLY loves running on the treadmill – no joke. Everytime I try to use it she jumps on to walk/run with me. I think she thinks she’s human.

ping pong balls and hair ties for fetch. The weirdest thing one of the does is ride in my bike basket. She just loves it. And she walks on a leash.

We have two 5 month old kittens (Henry & Sebastian) and and 8 month old, jack russell/min pin/doxie puppy (Jude).
We pick sturdy, lightweight dog toys that they all share and fight over (haha!). The dainty feather covered mice and martha stewatt kitty jingle balls got nom’d so no more cat toys in our house! We buy almost all our toys at Petsmart cause it’s convenient.
Current faves are squeaky toys, rattle toys (monkey, toysruspets brand), stuffingless flat dog, glow in the dark rubber ball (not a dent on it and they’ve all been teething!), and best of all…the creepy disembodied elk antler! Yay! The cats love this thing! Henry, the crazier of the kittens, tosses it in the air and entertains himself! The cats also love to chase things thrown for the dog to fetch. He just noses them out of the way and claims the toy. They play together, and nap together… brothers from another mother!
